Tips for the Sandwich Generation
Over 2.2 million Americans are in the sandwich generation; simultaneously providing support to aging parents/in-laws and at least one child. When a caregiver has MS, these challenges may be complicated by unpredictable and invisible symptoms.   Read more .

The Sandwich Generation: Caring for Yourself While Caring for Others
Tuesday, November 14, 2017, 8 - 9:15 pm ET
In partnership with the National MS Society.

As members of the "sandwich generation," you may find yourself in the difficult position - now or in the future - of caring for children while also providing support to parents or other family members. This can be especially stressful when also dealing with the challenges of MS. Taking care of others always starts with taking care of oneself, but this doesn't come naturally for many people. Two psychologists who specialize in MS care will share tips on priority setting, constructive communication, asking for and accepting help, managing stress, and taking charge of yourself.

More than half of people with MS experience cognitive changes. In addition to having a significant impact on a person's self-identity and confidence, these changes can impair a person's ability to work, manage daily activities, and communicate with loved ones. Although physicians noted these common MS symptoms more than 160 years ago, they have not received adequate attention until relatively recently. Join us for a comprehensive discussion on cognitive research and strategies.
