MAXIMIZING EFFICIENCY OF ROADWAY IMPROVEMENTS
As a result of the Foxconn project, there will be a great need to enhance County and Village infrastructure, including local roadways and highways. In order to maximize efficiency and effectiveness as well as resources, the Village and County are assigning temporary jurisdiction of certain highways to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (DOT) so the state agency can leverage its expertise and resources to carry out the needed improvements.

This is great news for Racine County as it means we will receive the DOT’s support on these local road improvements without an upfront investment from the County or Village.

Last week, the Village and County took steps forward in this process by authorizing an agreement between the Village, County and DOT to temporarily transfer jurisdiction of roads in the Foxconn construction area to the state.

Stay tuned for the latest updates as this process moves forward.
