What Can You Do?
On Saturday, September 16, the community came together for the 5th annual e3 Conference. The entire day was full of laughter, creativity and uplifting reminders to thrive every day no matter what obstacles come your way. We were educated about cognitive issues and updated research on marijuana. We were empowered through laughter, and energized with the reminder that there is a dancer in all of us.The crowd was captivated by Linda Olson, MD, a triple amputee who was recently diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. Linda had people laughing, crying and left everyone with the upbeat reminder that, "It is useless to talk about what we can't do, but what we can do!".

We Need You! Yeah, You!

Looking for mechanically inclined volunteers to fix U-Step walkers
We have a long waiting list of people needing to borrow a U-Step walker from our equipment loan program. Sadly, due to a lot of love and use over the years, we have more than 15 U-Step walkers in need of repair. If you are mechanically inclined and understand braking mechanisms similar to those on bikes, please lend a hand to keep our Parkinson's community mobile. For more information, email Leesah Barbieri.

Calling all Physical and Occupational Therapists:
Power Punch Parkinson's, a non-contact boxing program, needs your help! The Association's Power Punch Parkinson's boxing classes are unique in that they integrate Physical and Occupational Therapists into the program in conjunction with the professional boxing instructors. We are looking for contract assistance for classes in Northglenn, Ft. Collins, Grand Junction and Longmont. If you're interested in using your skills in a community setting, please email Erica for more information.

Join AARP Colorado for Still in the Game, by Robert F. Benjamin; an upbeat family drama about aging with grace, courage, and humor. In this upbeat, humorous journey of a recent widower, David (age 70) strives to begin a new life chapter, having served well as caregiver for his wife who died of cancer. But he clashes with his grieving daughter Dawn, who feels guilt for not caregiving enough. Years later, David needs a caregiver. Dawn offers, as does David's new girlfriend. Realizing his need for "spiritual work," David drives to tour a residential hospice. En route, tension around his caregiver decision explodes during a bizarre encounter with a young policewoman. Who will become David's caregiver?  Call 1-877-926-8300 to register. Registration is free.
