Meet Bryant

What is your job title and what does the position entail?

My role is the Robotics Sales Specialist at ACS. Essentially, I am extremely involved in all stages of any potential robotics projects we get involved in, from assessing the initial feasibility of applications to providing customer support. I am more or less ACS’s resident “subject area expert” in Universal Robots, Mobile Industrial Robots, and Epson Robotics.

How long have you been at ACS?

I graduated from Clemson in May of this year and have been with ACS since the beginning of July.

What do you like best about working at ACS so far?

Identifying new ways to improve customer’s processes through implementing robots is extremely rewarding. Being able to provide solutions through utilizing cutting-edge technology makes every day an interesting, unique challenge. On top of all of that, the supportive atmosphere of everyone within ACS has made it an extremely smooth transition to the working world.

Can you tell us a little about your background and how it helps you in this position?

Coming from an Industrial Engineering background, a good bit of my education focused on improving efficiency through established methods. My education has really helped my ability to identify possible areas for improvement throughout the wide variety of systems that our customers utilize. Being able to apply my classroom knowledge to solve real-world problems has been one of the most rewarding parts of my first few months on the job.

What are some key lessons you have taken from your career thus far?

It is impossible to understate the importance of continually educating yourself. In an industry where there is such an immense amount of technical knowledge available, it is vital to take advantage of every potential resource to grow this knowledge. Being able to pick the brain of people who have solved similar issues and absorbing their thought process has been one technique I have found particularly helpful.

Describe some of your hobbies – what do you like to do outside of ACS?

Just like most 23-year-olds, I enjoy spending quality time with my friends going to different places and sporting events around Atlanta. Sports have always been a major part of my life as well, and I regularly spend time playing basketball, golf, and working out. I jump at any opportunity to spend time outdoors. I try to go hiking or get out on my canoe at least once a month.

What is one thing your customers might find surprising about you?

I have always had an affinity for lacrosse. While it may not be very popular here in the south, lacrosse was my favorite sport to play throughout high school, and I try to watch it regularly.

Do you have any trips planned soon?

Some of my friends and myself plan to make the trip to whatever bowl game Clemson’s football team makes it to. Hopefully it will be in Miami or Dallas for the college football playoff semifinals!

What’s your favorite place in or near Atlanta?

It is impossible to beat Ted’s Montana grill for a bison burger. Without a doubt my favorite meal.
