The flu vaccine is the best way to lessen your risk of getting and spreading the flu. Influenza is a respiratory infection that can cause significant disruption of routine schedules during outbreaks, especially students or others who reside in dormitories or related closed quarters.

“Flu season” starts in October and can extend through May; it's best to get your vaccine by the end of October. The more people that are vaccinated against the flu, the less likely it will spread through the campus.
