Blessing of the Animals and Picture Day
On Monday, October 2nd, we celebrated the Blessing of the Animals in honor of the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi. Parents brought well-behaved pets to be blessed by Fr. Tony Marti during our Morning Assembly. Fr. Tony is a Franciscan priest from St. Francis High School and he celebrated Mass with us right after the Blessing of the Animals.
We also had picture day on Monday. If you did not order and would still like to, please order online at my.lifetouch.com by using the code MH017084Y0
Note: We will not attend Mass on Wednesday, October 4th.

Dominican Corner
The Mission San Jose Dominican Sisters were founded by a young sister named Mother Maria Pia Backes in the later part of the 1870s. She and some other young sisters came to California at the request San Francisco's first Archbishop, Joseph Alemany. In the years that followed with more sisters joining them, Mother Pia and her Dominican Sisters established and various schools in Northern and Southern California. We are proud to be an MSJ affiliate school, established by the MSJ Sisters in 1922. The sisters live with great joy, and that joy is alive in the community of St. Ignatius of Loyola Parish School! Please click the 'Our Dominican Life' link below to watch a video featuring current sisters. A couple of those pictured are St. Ignatius grads!
