Pre-Owned/Used Mobile Clinics Revitalized!
In 2017, used mobile medical and/or dental clinics purchased through the Authority are now serving new communities nationwide ... Colorado, California, Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia, Louisiana, Iowa, Washington, Missouri, and Texas. Another has been shipped to the Dominican Republic ... says Ed Peace on behalf of World Mission Partners, "It looks great. I am glad this vehicle continues being put to good use. Conversions.
Converting a used chassis is a viable option for organizations with limited budgets; the need to acquire a mobile clinic within a short time period; and, the preference to custom design their own interior clinic space. According to Kazi Afzal, Project Manager, "the Islamic Council of North America San Francisco Bay Area Chapter purchased a used mobile clinic in order to serve the local communities providing free basic health care. The used clinic was modified (to augment the dental operatory with a medical exam area) to meet local codes and stay within budget. This was a great service to our organization."
Leasing.
The need to lease a mobile medical or dental clinic varies ... to immediately fulfill a service contract, continue service after a natural disaster, or for temporary use during fixed-site re-modeling. Mobile clinics available for lease are few in number, however, frequently sellers of used clinics are willing to lease, for a three to six-month minimum period. The Authority recently facilitated mobile clinic leasing contracts in Missouri, Florida, and California and continues to expand the options for leasing.
