Town Promotes Alternative Transportation with Annual Golf Cart Rodeo & "Drive-In" Movie Night
On Saturday, September 30, 2017 the Town hosted its 2nd Annual Golf Cart Rodeo at Cutler Ridge Park. Mayor Bell and Vice Mayor Loyzelle were among those competing in a golf cart obstacle course challenge. Town Resident, Brad Wall won the obstacle course challenge as he expertly maneuvered his cart through the many twists and turns.
Town Hosts Beacon Council Hurricane Recovery Business Assistance Workshop for Local Businesses
On Thursday, October 12, 2017, the Town hosted the Miami-Dade Beacon Council Hurricane Recovery Assistance Workshop for Town residents in the Council Chambers.
 
Town Creates Safe Route to School for Cutler Bay Middle School Students
This year students will experience a more pleasant walk or bike to school along Gulfstream Road leading to Cutler Bay Middle School. This is all thanks to a $404,000 Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) Grant awarded to the Town through the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and the Safe Routes to School Program. Construction Crews worked throughout the Summer to complete the project along the Gulfstream Road corridor between Franjo Road and Bahama Drive.

Annual Curriculum Expo 2017 Hosted at Southland Mall
On Thursday, October 12, 2017, Miami-Dade County Public Schools, South Region Office, hosted the Annual Curriculum Expo to showcase forty-one (41) schools in the Southridge, Homestead, and South Dade High Feeder Patterns, at Southland Mall.
 
Town Receives Distinguished GFOA Budget Preparation Award
The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) presented the Town of Cutler Bay with the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for the Fiscal Year 2016-17 budget. The award represents a significant achievement by the Town. It reflects the Town's ongoing commitment to meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting.  
 
Town Hosts 4th Annual Senior Games
Each year during the month of October, the Town hosts the Cutler Bay Senior Games. The Senior Games movement first commenced in Florida in 1974 and was spearheaded by the Florida Sports Foundation. The Senior Games is a multi-sport event program for adults ages 50 and over. The Cutler Bay Senior Games is sanctioned by the Florida Senior Games, which means participants may qualify to participate in the state games in Clearwater, Florida in December.   
 
Miami-Dade Residents Work Together to go Solar and Save Money
On Tuesday, October 17, 2017, the Town hosted a Solar Co-Op Information Session with FL SUN, to discuss the Solar Co-Op Launch coming to Cutler Bay and South Miami-Dade Communities.

Town's Halloween Event Attracts Over 2,000 Guests
On Friday, October 27, 2017 more than 2,000 participants came out to Cutler Ridge Park for the Town's Annual Halloween Trunk or Treat Event. Superman, Zombies, and Villains filled the crowd, and invaded the Costume Contest which this year included pets! Event goers raved about the Haunted House. Families enjoyed face painting, food trucks, photo booth, haunted house, dancing, games, and prizes.

"Dirty Crimes Carry Fines"
 
Earlier this summer, the Department of Solid Waste Management launched its rebranded illegal dumping prevention campaign. The "Dirty Crimes Carry Fines" Campaign is designed to increase awareness of illegal dumping as a crime and to advise dumpers that their actions can carry fines and penalties.
Residents can now report illegal dumping by calling 3-1-1 or using the Miami-Dade County App.

Cutler Bay Mobile App
This user friendly mobile app gives residents access to the latest news and events happening in the Town. Residents can also use the app to report any issues or concern via their phone. Residents can download the app for free in the iTunes Store or Google Play by searching "Cutler Bay FL"


Crime Mapping
The Town and Miami-Dade Police Department utilize CrimeMapping to help law enforcement provide the public with valuable information about recent crime activity in their neighborhoods. Crime data is uploaded on a daily basis so that the information being viewed by residents is only a few days old. To view crime trends in your neighborhood, please visit www.crimemapping.com


Community on Patrol (COP) App
The Town and Miami-Dade Police Department offer the Community on Patrol (COP) App to allow the residents of Miami-Dade to be on patrol in their neighborhoods and report any suspicious activity to the Town's Policing Unit.  The COP App can be downloaded for free in the iTunes Store or Google Play by searching "Community on Patrol"

Nextdoor
Nextdoor is a website that makes it easy to communicate with your neighbors about the issues that matter most in your community. The website allows neighbors to share recommendations about local services, organize neighborhood events and connect with parents and other groups in the neighborhood. The Town's Policing Unit staff uploads neighborhood alters through Nextdoor. Nextdoor protects you, your information, and your neighborhood. Miami-Dade Transit Tracker
Miami-Dade County Transit, which updates the Town's Circulator Bus Service, encourages you to utilize the Miami-Dade Transit Tracker App to help track your ride and plan your trip. The program allows riders to attain real-time tracking of the Town's Municipal Circulator, Metrobus and Metrorail. The App also provides fare information, Miami-Dade Transit contacts, bus schedules, and connecting buses.
