Celebrate
Colonial
Sunday
and the
Daughters
of the
American Revolution
This weekend we will celebrate Colonial Sunday at Zion's Church! Pastor Bob will be in colonial garb, and our worship and music will be based on colonial era liturgies and songs.
We will highlight the 125th anniversary of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Liberty Bell Chapter, at the service. Our Liberty Bell Museum's current exhibit focuses on the DAR.
Colonial Sunday each year commemorates the hiding of eleven bells, including the one that became known as the Liberty Bell, in Zion's church in 1777. And although the events we memorialize are 240 years in the past, the theme of patriotism is very much 21st century.
Be sure to note the special parking instructions (sent in a previous email and also explained below).
Gathering music begins at 10:30 a.m. with colonial themed music played by our director of music ministry, Jane Knotek, and her assistant, Rhys Williams. The service begins at 10:45.
Following the service, enjoy a potluck luncheon.
See you on Sunday!
