LISA Academy's Bright Future
To have educators say that LISA Academy is one of the top public charter schools in Arkansas is one thing, but to prove it is another. In 2016 LISA Academy finished up their school year by being awarded multiple Outstanding Educational Performance Awards. Nine to be exact. The awards are based on the OEP-created "school GPA," calculated on the basis of the percentage of students that performed at each level on the 2016 ACT Aspire Math, ELA, and Science.

Anna Mitchell
We would like to congratulate LISA North's art teacher Ms. Mitchell for her dedication and hard work. Last month Mitchell received notice that she was approved for the Arts on Tour grant through the Arkansas Arts Council.

This grant allows the funding to bring the Arkansas Arts Center's Artmobile to the LISA North and LISA Chenal campuses during STEM Week on May 21 - 25. The Artmobile is a gallery on wheels that visits various schools and gives tours to students. It is a great way to bring an art experience to students who may never get the opportunity to go to an actual art museum. The theme for this years Artmobile is A Feast for the Eyes where it depicts the evolution of food.

We look forward to taking in this exciting and unique experience come May!!

THANK YOU, Ms. Mitchell
Suzanne Rogers
Ms. Rogers was selected to serve on the Arkansas Department of Education  Teacher Leader Advisory Group, TLAG.

The TLAG is made up of 30 highly recommended, outstanding education leaders across the state. The TLAG will focus on the vision of leading the nation in a student-focused education. Several units within the department will be utilizing the TLAG group throughout the rest of the school year and possibly into the summer. Some of the projects include recommending the criteria for the new tiered licensure rules, aiding in the development of equity labs, and helping to write the new family and community engagement frameworks. TLAG will also be utilized some in the social media campaign to recruit and retain teachers across the state.

Congratulations, Ms. Rogers!
LISA Academy Home Visits
At LISA Academy, we make sure that everyone who walks through our doors feel welcome. We think of our students, parents, and staff as family and do whatever we can to make everyone's time in our schools beneficial.

One of the ways we achieve that goal is through our Home Visit program. This program is designed for teachers and staff to connect with students and their families on a level other than in the classroom. The Home Visit program provides a sense of importance and acceptance within a student and their family. It allows teachers to see the everyday life of their students, and develop a better understanding of their kids in the classroom.

LISA Academy Fall Festivals
LISA Academy kicked of their 2017 Fall Festivals last week at our Chenal and North locations. Attendees got to experience haunted hallways, a costume contest, games, and local food trucks!
Arkansas STEM Festival
The Arkansas STEM Festival is an incredible event due to the sheer number of benefits and experiences it provides. The 100+ engaging demonstrations at the festival are a sight to behold! It is among the largest meetings of the Arkansas STEM community in the entire state. It is an ideal field trip destination, because it's completely free and highly educational for students and people of all ages. Presenting students obtain numerous valuable experiences including presenting their work to a large and engaging audience, meeting and discussing STEM with experts, teaching others about STEM, learning about STEM from others and from STEM-focused companies, hearing influential STEM figures speak, and having the opportunity to be recognized for their work! The next Arkansas STEM Festival will beheld on Friday, March 9, 2018!
