NEW:  Monday Night Celebration . . .

The celebration begins early this year with a 4:30 p.m. start of our Annual Awards Reception, during which we honor individuals and organizations for outstanding achievements or support of CP of NYS and its Affiliates. We also will have a short dance demonstration and performance by two dancers from the NYC Ballet and a group of children from Affiliates.

There will be ample food and drinks and time to mingle with friends and colleagues; and it all ends by 7:30. Following the reception you can remain in the hotel, or venture out and experience the restaurants and bars of historic and beautiful Saratoga Springs. Click HERE for a list of our recommended restaurants.

Join us from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. as we honor some very special people!

Robert Schonhorn Direct Support Professional of the Year Award

2017 Recipient
Phillipa Hartwell
Queens Centers for Progress

This award recognizes a direct support professional working at a Cerebral Palsy Associations of New York State Affiliate whose dedication and effort reflects an exemplary standard of excellence and who has made significant contributions to the quality of life of the people with disabilities they support.

A former CP of NYS Executive Director who led the organization at the beginning of deinstitutionalization in NYS, Robert Schonhorn was a firm believer in the importance of direct care professionals in the lives of people with disabilities and their families. In 1972, Governor Carey designated Mr. Schonhorn and others to examine the conditions of the Willowbrook State School on Staten Island and make recommendations. As a result, the State Association became a provider of services under Mr. Schonhorn's leadership as Willowbrook residents began to move into the community.

 Congratulations, Phillipa!

Let's Rock the Hilton!
The Audiostars will be back to rock the Hilton on Halloween, Tuesday, October 31 following the CP of NYS Staff Recognition Dinner.  Dance until you drop, sing along with all your favorite songs, or just sit and enjoy this high-energy band that had everyone moving last year.
