For the past 47 years, Fullerton College has been helping to feed students and their families during Thanksgiving with support and donations from the campus community. The Ethnic Studies Department, M.E.Ch.A, and Associated Students are again calling on the campus community to donate to the annual Thanksgiving Food Drive.

Veterans Day Events This Week
Several activities will take place this week in recognition of
Veterans Week. The Wall of Remembrance traveling memorial arrived on campus Monday morning and is located in the quad. On
Wednesday, Nov. 8,
Circle up in the VRC With Dr. Snetter is at
12:30 p.m. And on
Thursday, Nov. 9 the
Veteran Appreciation BBQ is in the quad from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Vets eat for free.
The campus will be closed on Friday, Nov. 10 in observance of the Veteran's Holiday. On Nov. 11, the city of Fullerton's Veterans Day ceremony will take place on the quad starting at 11 a.m.

President's Open Office Hour: Nov. 9
Dr. Greg Schulz will offer his next Open Office Hour on Thursday, Nov. 9 at 4 p.m. Open office hours provide an opportunity members of the campus community to meet one on one with the president.
Veterans Care Package Drive Ends Nov. 16
The Veterans Resource Center is calling on the Fullerton College campus and community to donate items to troops deployed overseas. Stop by the VRC during normal business hours through Nov. 16 with donations of clothing, food and snacks, entertainment and other items such as personal handwritten letters and thank you notes. A packing party will be held on Friday, Nov. 17.

Get Started on Your CSU Application
This workshop guides students through the most difficult parts of the CSU application such as calculating transferable: units, grade points, and GPA. In addition, we answer the most common questions related to the Associate Degree for Transfer, applying to EOP, and the application fee waiver. Applying to Private and Out-of-State Universities Workshop
This one-hour workshop on Thursday, Nov. 8 at 2 p.m. in Room 212, covers the most frequently asked questions regarding the Common Application. Topics include the Common Application Personal Statement, evaluations, forms, and the CSS Profile.
Resume and Cover Letter Workshop
Learn how to land an interview by targeting your resume to that particular job. Learn how to write a basic cover letter that is professional, concise, and to the point. Attending this workshop is the first step to receiving guided assistance with creating a resume. Free 4-week Intro to Sign Language Class Offered
Disability Support Services Interpreter Susan Carey will offer a crash course in sign language for students and staff. The class is designed to teach some basic signs and answer questions people may have about learning sign language at FC. There is no cost to attend and no materials required to participate. For more information, attend an information session on Tuesday, Nov. 7 at 10- 10:45 a.m. in Room 801C (Skills Center). The class will be offered on Tuesdays from Nov. 14 - Dec. 5.

The Hornets took on Orange Coast College at home Saturday afternoon in a SCFA Southern Conference match-up cruising past the Pirates 66-14.
Up Next: Fullerton (9-0 overall, and 4-0 conference) will play at Golden West College on Saturday, Nov. 11 for another conference game. Come on out and support your Hornets!
Women's Soccer
Fullerton rose to the occasion at home last Friday beating Orange Empire Conference rival Santa Ana College 4-0.

Men's Soccer
The Hornets dropped their second straight conference game at Santa Ana College last Friday, a 2-1 defeat by the Dons.
Up Next: Fullerton (7-11-2 overall, 5-5-2 OEC) is still trying to fight for a playoff spot when they host Santiago Canyon College this Tuesday, Nov. 7 at 3 p.m.
Women's Water Polo
The Hornets played in the Orange Empire Conference Championships over the weekend taking fourth place overall. They opened with an exciting double-overtime win over Cypress College on Friday, but then lost the next two games to Orange Coast and Golden West.
Men's Water Polo
The Hornets ended their season playing in the Orange Empire Conference Championships at Cypress College. FC fell in their first game against Riverside on Thursday in a close one 12-9. In their second and final game on Saturday, Fullerton captured fifth place with a convincing 22-5 win over Santa Ana.
Women's Golf
On day one of the SoCal Regionals at Temecula Creek on Sunday, the Hornets placed seventh, and were only three shots out of fourth. Freshman Kaylee Jeon shot 75, the low round of the day.
Cross Country
The Hornets ran in the Southern California Cross Country Regional Championships at Santa Clarita's Central Park last Thursday with the women finishing 15th out of 27 teams at 455 points. Cassidy Nyenhuis (21:21) qualified as the 11th individual. She was 63rd out of 189 runners.
Up Next: The State Cross Country Championships at Woodward Park, Fresno, CA on Saturday, Nov. 18. at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m.
Men's Basketball
The Hornets opened up their 2017-18 campaign this weekend at the San Diego City College Tournament and played in the title game against the #1 team in the state.

Up Next: Fullerton (2-1 overall) will host the 34th Fullerton College Classic Tournament this coming week with games beginning on Wednesday, Nov. 8 through Saturday, Nov. 11. The Hornets will open the tourney against Chaffey College on Wednesday at 7 p.m.

The FC women's basketball team will begin their season this Friday at the Santa Barbara Crossover Tournament. Go Hornets!
Softball
The Hornet softball team played at the University of Hawaii over the weekend for a three-game non-traditional season tournament. Fullerton went 1-4 in the tournament beating Chaminade 8-6, and then falling to Hawaii 17-0 and 15-1.
