A BEHIND THE SCENES TOUR OF THE GRAND THEATRE
So much excitement is building for the Milwaukee Symphony's proposed historic renovation of the Grand Theatre, which is sure to be a catalyst for the redevelopment of West Wisconsin Avenue. The theatre has a rich history in Milwaukee and was once a popular destination for movies and vaudeville performances when it was built in 1930.  The theater closed in 1995 and has since remained vacant.

The Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra hopes to convert the theatre into their new performing space. Currently, MSO has secured two-thirds of the $120 million needed for the renovation, and should everything go as planned, MSO may start performing their 2019 season in the theatre. Westown-based architectural firm Kahler Slater is leading the project to redesign and restore. While many are excited to see the renovations, the location is too hazardous for the general public after more than two decades of disuse. However, Tour de Force 360VR, a Milwaukee based company was given access to the building to create a virtual tour of the space. To view the virtual tour, click here

HELP THOSE IN NEED THIS UPCOMING HOLIDAY SEASON
The Capuchins are looking for people to help those in need this holiday season. Capuchin Community Services provides central city families in need with food baskets that contain all the fixings for a holiday meal, complete with a turkey so they are able to prepare a festive meal in their home for their families.  They also assist 1,000 central city households by allowing parents to "shop" for toys in a respectable store-like atmosphere at the Capuchin Community Services' House of Peace site. Currently, the organization is looking for people to help with the Holiday Gift Boxes, Holiday Toy Drive, and Emergency Food Pantry boxes.  For more information, click here
