Dear Parents / Guardians, Students, Staff, and Friends of the Sanborn Regional High School Community. Here are your latest important announcements from Sanborn Regional High School:

Homecoming 2017 Preview
A Message From the Student Council's Catherine Rasmussen

Every year, Sanborn Regional High School has a community-wide event that takes place at the end of September.  This year Homecoming is on Saturday, September 30th.  The week leading up to the 30th is spirit week.  Students dress up depending on the day.  Monday is America day, students will wear red, white and blue.  Tuesday, students will wear tie-dye.  Wednesday is joggers versus loggers, freshman and sophomores will dress up as joggers and juniors and seniors will dress up as loggers.  Thursday is twin or squad day, students will dress up with with their friend(s).  The last day of spirit week is color day.  Freshman will dress up in gray, sophomores will dress in blue, juniors will dress in white, and seniors will dress in black. Also during spirit week there will be a penny war between the four grades.  The money raised during the penny war will go to hurricane relief. On Monday, each grade brings in their banners that they have created to be judged for points and hung in the atrium.  These banners are based on the overall theme of biomes and each class's specific theme.  Freshman are the tundra, sophomores are the grasslands, juniors are the jungle, and the seniors are aquatic.  The Friday of spirit week is the pep rally.  At the pep rally students play the sports that are available in the fall; including soccer, football, golf, and a relay race.  The grades compete against each other and the winners earn 2 points and the losers earn 1 point.

On Saturday the 30th is when the community is invited to observe the hard work each class has put into homecoming.  In the morning, there is a parade where each grade has made a float based on their themes and the community is invited to watch as the floats make their way to the high school.  Then, once at the high school each grade preforms a skit and a dance based on their themes which are judged.  The winner of homecoming is announced once each grade has finished their skit and dance.  After all of these activities in the morning, the girls and boys soccer teams, the field hockey team, and the football team all play.  Each class also has a booth set up selling food.  The athletic boosters are a major part in allowing for Saturday to happen, including being the judges.

Sanborn Athletes Win Excellence Award for 2016-2017 Year
Congratulations To Our Athletes and Coaches For This Honor!

On Monday, September 11, 2017, Sanborn Regional High School was one of 35 schools recognized by the New Hampshire Interscholastic Athletics Association (NHIAA) for receiving an Excellence Award for having no disqualifications in any sport for the 2016-2017 school year.

Sanborn Athletic Director Vicki Parady-Guay noted that the award is a big deal for our community because it represents the commitment to excellence that each of our student athletes portrays when they take the field wearing a Sanborn uniform. Our student athletes represent not only their school but their peers as role-models and leaders on and off the field.

Congratulations to Vicki, our staff of coaches, and of course our student athletes on this amazing accomplishment.

The Event Will Run the Morning of October 11, 2017

On Wednesday, October 11, 2017, the senior class of Sanborn Regional High School will participate in Senior Day of Caring, a day where seniors are matched with local individuals, groups, and organizations to provide community service. Are you willing to sponsor a small group of students that day? Students are available for four hour shifts in the morning, from 8:20AM-12:30PM. Jobs can include light yard work, cleaning, office work, and other similar tasks. Please contact teachers Sarah Brown ( [email protected] ) or Ashley Harbel ( [email protected] ) by email or call the school at (603) 642-3341 before September 30, 2017 to reserve a space at this year's event.

Senior Day of Caring is an annual tradition that has provided support to hundreds of local individuals and groups over the years in Newton, Fremont, and Kingston. It serves as a service requirement for all seniors at the high school, reinforcing the notion that all Sanborn students find their path, give back, and make good choices throughout their life.
