The Bay Area's TOP Casino
|
|
The Bay 101 Casino held their Grand Opening on Thursday evening, Oct. 12 and received a rousing welcome. The new $53 million building, which spans 68,000 square-feet on North First Street in San Jose, is now Feng Shui certified and uses energy-efficient lighting. "We're very proud of the finished project," said Rich Alvari, the Casino's director of sales, marketing and special events. "The lighting, the open space, the rich wood. The idea was to have a comfortable space; not the glitzy Las Vegas feel." The new Bay 101 Casino is also home to The Province, a Asian fusion restaurant from the owners of three upscale Santana Row eateries: Sino, Straits and Roots & Rye. |

The second of two San Francisco 49ers first-round draft picks in 2017 (31st overall), rookie linebacker Reuben Foster (56) celebrates at having stopped Cardinals running back Adrian Peterson on a third down but Peterson would excel throughout the day, picking up 157 yards. Photo by Michael Zagaris.

49ers fourth-year linebacker Brock Coyle (50) flushed Arizona Cardinals quarterback Drew Stanton (5) out of the pocket but unlike San Francisco quarterback C.J. Beathard, who was sacked repeated, Stanton's protection held up and he was not sacked throughout the game. Coyle recorded seven tackles. Photo by Michael Zagaris.

On this play the 49ers defense, led by Reuben Foster (56), DeForest Buckner (99) and Earl Mitchell (90) swallowed up the Cardinals Adrian Peterson (23). Peterson, with the exception of six rushes by other Cardinals runners, was his team's entire ground game, carrying the ball a career-high 37 times. Photo by Michael Zagaris.

Monte Vista-Danville --
Senior -- Volleyball
|
A three-year starter for the Mustangs, Maddie Dailey (No. 7) helped Monte Vista finish out a 30-win regular season with a 3-0 sweep of cross-town rival San Ramon Valley-Danville on Oct. 26. The fierce middle blocker led the Mustangs with 14 kills on just 19 attempts, while adding five aces, five digs and three blocks. Dailey, who remains undecided on her college destination, heads into the postseason ranked third on the team with 208 kills, while sporting a .554 hitting percentage. She was also the team leader in aces (52) and blocks (80) over the course of the regular season. Monte Vista enters the playoffs with a 30-2 record and as the North Coast Section's No. 1 seed. The Mustangs are seeking their fourth straight NCS championship. If successful, Monte Vista would become the first NCS program to win four consecutive Div. I titles.
