RHA's heart and thoughts are with the victims, survivors, and the entire Las Vegas community affected by this week's shooting. As members of the hospitality community, we are acutely aware of the feelings of trepidation this tragedy has imparted on all of us in the industry. We strive to be a partner in all things loss control, and share a response booklet, a quick-sheet, and two webinars surrounding Active Shooter Safety in the workplace. As our industry discusses the best lessons and ways to move forward, please consult RHA's educational resources on this difficult issue.
While our members who sustained damage are facing challenges to bring their properties back to full operations, our members' investments in storm-proofing their properties helped to mitigate their losses from Hurricane Irma. All in all, given the unprecedented size and power of Irma, and the number of RHA members in its path, RHA appears to have fared pretty well from this destructive storm.

The CDC also recommends these simple steps for preventing the spread of flu and infectious diseases:
Try to avoid close contact with sick people.
While sick, limit contact with others as much as possible to keep from infecting them.
If you are sick with flu-like illness, CDC recommends that you stay home for at least 24 hours after your fever is gone except to get medical care or for other necessities. (Your fever should be gone for 24 hours without the use of a fever-reducing medicine.)
Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.
Wash your hands often with soap and water. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand rub. Click here to learn how to wash your hands properly!
Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth. Germs spread this way.
Clean and disinfect surfaces and objects that may be contaminated with germs like the flu.
RHA welcomes our newest member property, Lake Lawn Resort, in Wisconsin. Situated on Delavan Lake, it has been open for nearly 140 years, and is a popular family destination.

KINDRED SPONSORS SMALL MARKET MEETINGS
Meeting planners gathered last month for the Small Market Meetings Conference, and Kindred was there as a sponsor and to introduce planners to our amazing collection of hotels and resorts. Member properties Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, Michigan and Sonnenalp Hotel in Vail, Colorado joined Kindred for the event.
Attendees conducted one-on-one appointments, attended educational sessions, and experienced the best of South Bend. We look forward to continuing to partner with this planner segment for additional group bookings for Kindred resorts.
