Agricultural Tour


Join the BC Ministry of Agriculture on a tour of West Abbotsford to showcase a broad and diverse range of farm operations that help ensure the resiliency of the agricultural industry in the lower mainland. By visiting several agricultural operations, you'll discover the challenges related to planning for agriculture in the Fraser Valley, where increased development and land prices have put pressure on farmers and farm operations. 


Childminding Registration Deadline

The Childminding Program will be offered once again during the 2019 Convention for elected officials of UBCM members at a nominal fee of $30 plus GST per day per child. Elected officials of UBCM members requiring childminding services must register by August 30, 2019. 'Explore The Floor' Contest

Drop your completed entry into the Draw Box at the UBCM Booth #500 (inside Exhibition Hall B/C) before 2:30pm on Thursday, September 26.



Port of Vancouver Harbour Study Tour


Get an up-close view of Port of Vancouver's major marine terminals operating in the Burrard Inlet! This tour will take place on Thursday afternoon, September 26th, following the Delegates' Lunch. Narration will be provided about key infrastructure and landmarks as well as the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority's land, water, and air protection initiatives. Refreshments and snacks will be served. Pre-registration is not required, but be sure to arrive promptly as capacity is limited and is on a first-come, first-served basis.


Hotel Cancellation Policies 

Have you overbooked your room block? Don't miss your hotel room cancellation deadline. Each hotel has its own deadline for cancelling rooms; please refer to the   Hotel Accommodations webpage  to view the reservation cancellation policy for your hotel.  If you have rooms  you would like to cancel, please contact Kelsey at  kmackaysmith@ubcm.ca.


Registration Cancellation Deadline

If you can no longer attend the Convention, you must cancel your registration in writing to convention@ubcm.ca . Refund policies for cancellations are as follows:
  • Cancel between August 10-23: 50% refund
  • Cancel on/after August 24: no refund

Convention Code of Conduct

All UBCM Convention attendees are asked to read, understand and agree to comply with the Code of Conduct by signing off on the Agreement and Acknowledgment Form and returning it to UBCM at codeofconduct@ubcm.ca.

At the 2016 Convention, delegates endorsed resolution B103 asking UBCM to implement a convention code of conduct. Extensive work has been undertaken and we are pleased to advise that UBCM has a formal Convention Code of Conduct in place for the 2019 Convention.
