November 2017 Redwood County Clover Update
Here's what's new on the Redwood County 4-H website this month!

Who? YOU! Club Officer training break out sessions, door prizes, supper, and networking all in one night! Clubs will want to send representatives - youth and adult alike to our annual Fall training and education event. Expanding Our Roots is a program with great timing as we explore opening our doors to new leadership styles and supporting new clubs, new members, and supporting our long standing 4-H programs and traditions. This training will be held on Monday November 6th at 6:30 pm in the MinnWest meeting room at the Redwood County Government Center.


Its Back! Get Ready Redwood County 4-H - its coming soon! 4-H Recognition and Game Night. New Date but not a new location. Join us at Wabasso Public School as we celebrate our 4-H success, club programs, new members, AND be ready for some game time. Minute To Win It is BACK! We can't wait to see you there!


They made it! Scream Town was a success! And, we have more events to come. Are you ready to jump in and join the Ambassadors? Youth grades 7 and older are very welcome to join the fun!! An exciting day is being planned for all 4-H screened adult volunteers to network with fellow volunteers while gaining new ideas for working with clubs and youth. It will be held Saturday, February 24th in conjunction with the SW BLU event at SMSU in Marshall.

During a month we often spend expressing gratitude for good things in our lives, associate dean and state 4-H director Dorothy Freeman encourages adults to add the gift of volunteering to your list.
 
Apply for National 4-H Conference!
Nov. 10 is the deadline for Minnesota 4-H youth to apply for the National 4-H Conference to be held in Washington D.C. April 7-12, 2018. You must be 15 years old by Jan. 1 and not older than 19 by June 1 (in the year of conference attendance).
 
Plan ahead for Citizenship Washington Focus 2018!
Minnesota 4-H youth in grades 9-13 are invited to strengthen their communication, leadership, and citizenship skills at a national level by attending Citizenship Washington Focus in Washington D.C. from June 23-30, 2018. Pre-application materials will be available online Jan. 10, 2018.
 
Sign up for the BLU regional youth leadership workshops!
Register for a regional youth leadership workshop for youth in grades 6-12 at one of five locations across the state. Activities are planned and facilitated by the Minnesota 4-H State Ambassadors!
 
Did you miss your favorite Minnesota 4-H styles at the state fair? Are you thinking of holiday gifts for 4-H loving people in your life? Good news - Minnesota 4-H Clovermart is open for a winter sale through Dec. 14.
 
It's time to re-enroll!
Re-enrollment for 4-H members and adult volunteers is open. The volunteer re-enrollment period is Sept. 16 - Oct. 31. And remember, starting this fall, 4-H volunteer enrollment will last for three years.
 
Consider applying for an AMC 4-H Community Leadership Award
The Extension Committee of the Association of Minnesota Counties (AMC) will select two 4-H club projects that will each receive awards of $500 in recognition for their contributions and service to their communities. The application deadline is Jan. 22.
