Local Authors' Night
Thursday, October 26 @ 7 pm
The Rockport Public Library will be hosting its second annual Local Authors' Night this fall. The event is a great opportunity to highlight and support local authors from all over Cape Ann who have recently published works of fiction or nonfiction, as well creative writing.
Each author will speak and do a reading from their work, and audience members will have a chance to ask questions and experience what the local talent has to offer. Below are some of the authors who will be in attendance:

Friends of the Rockport Library Fall Book Sale
Time to stock up for winter reading...
What:
- Hardcovers
- Trade paperbacks
- Massmarket/small paperbacks
- Selected high-quality editions at special prices
- Plus, lots of CDs, DVDs and children's books

- Thursday, October 19 - 5-7 pm (Members' Preview Sale)
- Friday, October 20 - 10-5 pm
- Saturday, October 21 - 10-5 pm
- Sunday, October 22 1-5 pm
NOTE: The Members' Preview Sale is for members of the Friends of the Rockport Public Library. If you are not currently a member, forms will be available at the door on the 19th. Or, you can visit the Friends' bookshelf to the right of the Main Desk in the library to obtain one in advance.

Sandy Bay Historical Society Program Series
Tuesday, October 10 @ 7:30 pm
All are welcome to join the Sandy Bay Historical Society Program Series. This month they will feature a Town of Rockport movie presentation, to include a short film of Miss Cape Ann from 1933, presented by Pearce Sears.
Light refreshments will be provided.
Membership is not required to attend.

fantasy game Small World, inhabited by a zany cast of characters such as dwarves, wizards, amazons, giants, orcs and even humans, who use their troops to occupy territory and conquer adjacent lands.

Halloween Movie

Halloween baddies vs. Christmas goodies, in this stop-motion animated movie that CommonSenseMedia says is "offbeat... a great family film for all ages."
Come in costume for Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas and you might just win a prize!
Starring Jack Skellington, Sally, Zero, Oogie Boogie and of course Santa Clause, among other memorable characters.

Play to Learn Storytime and Play Group
Wednesday, October 11, 18 and 25 @ 1:30 pm
Circle time on a blanket for stories, songs and fingerplays, followed by creative playtime with friends. All ages are welcome to join the fun!
This library program is a collaboration between the CFCE Coordinator at Pathways for Children and the Rockport Public Library. In addition, the program is funded by a grant through the MA Department of Early Education and Care.
Half-day School Special: Crafternoon

Stop by the Children's Room for a seasonal drop-in craft. Suitable for ages 4+.
