Ballston Neighborhood Survey

Hey Ballston, we want to hear from you! Your Ballston neighborhood BID has launched a survey about improving the Ballston area. Open to both Ballston residents and employees, this survey allows you to tell us what you think could be done in the community to better serve the needs of all Ballstonians. We need your feedback and opinions to help us shape our future BID goals.

The survey itself takes about 10-15 minutes to complete, but your hard work will be rewarded. Each participant is automatically eligible to enter a raffle for two Washington Capitals VIP Suite tickets. All that is required is a full survey submission with your full name and email.

The survey will be available until October 6th, and the winner of the Caps tickets will be selected the following week and notified by email.

Help us make Ballston an even better place to live and work!

BluVector Opens in Ballston

The cybersecurity company, BluVector, held their official ribbon cutting ceremony for their new offices on Fairfax Drive on September 19th. Governor Terry McAuliffe was in attendance, as well as 100 other well-wishers of the young start-up. The company was started only eight months ago by CEO Kris Lovejoy. The company and Lovejoy quickly made a name for themselves with the creation of an early-warning system to detect hacks electronically. Governor McAuliffe recognized the growing need for such innovations. "We live in an age where cyberattacks on our critical infrastructure are a real threat, but we are proud to have Virginia-based companies like BluVector leading the way to detect - and confront - evolving threats with technological solutions that can be applied here, nationally, and even around the world."

BluVector is the newest addition to Arlington's growing "cyber-corridor," a stretch of office spaces quickly being filled by innovative technology and cybersecurity companies. Lovejoy stated her location within the "corridor" would help attract talented professionals due to Ballston's desirability as a place to live and work, but also because of its proximity to several colleges and universities. BluVector has plans for expansion to other tech-hungry countries, Japan and South Korea, but for now they have settled into their new home overlooking the Ballston skyline.
