Why Foster?

Because you will be the only hope for animals in situations like this:
Puppies in mud

Fostering animals is very rewarding. And sometimes makes you laugh!

If you are interesting in learning more about fostering, see Bethann. The animals need you!

Please note: Gina has found her forever home!!!

There are two projects we would like to do if we have volunteers who are interested. The first is taking orphans' dogs to visit Melody Manor Personal Care Home residents to brighten their days. The other is a new restaurant pet promotion idea to help our animals find their forever homes. If interested in either (or both) please see Bethann.

I asked Beth what is the best way to walk dogs to help them make a good impression on potential adopters. She said: a little obedience & a little fun! Ask dogs to walk calmly and obediently next to you to the field. After you reach the field, let the leash out a little and let them have some fun! However, always discourage jumping, mouthing and excessive pulling with minimal correction and LOTS of praise! And, of course, always tell them how good they are when the poop or pee outside!

Lots of Wags, Kisses & Reunions!

Orphans of the Storm (OOS) participated in this year's event.  Lots of fun was had by all, and the three dogs that attended may have found homes.

If you have never had the chance to take an orphan to a pet event, it is very rewarding! Let us know you are interested the next time you see a pet event request. The more volunteers we have, the more animals are able to participate and find forever homes!

We had a dedicated crew of volunteers & staff all weekend at this event -- showing animals and selling food & baked goods. (Sorry, I didn't get a photo of our fine food crew). Thanks to everyone who helped in any way to make this a success!
