Manitoba Farm and Food Awareness Week

Manito ba's third annual Farm and Food Awareness Week is taking place September 18 - 24, 2017 with the  theme: 'Farmers - The Most Trusted Source on Food'.

This week is an excellent opportunity for Manitobans to celebrate food and agri-products produced in our province, as well as, to help the public understand how farmers produce food safely and sustainably while contributing substantially to the province's economic success.

CAMA & CABEF at the Global 4H Summit Opportunities Expo

From July 11-14th, 485 4-H youth, volunteers and  professionals from 35 countries joined together in Ottawa for the Global 4-H Network Summit. On the 13th and 14th, CAMA and CABEF took part in the movement of 'Empowering Youth. Growing Global Citizens' by each hosting a trade show booth at the Opportunities Expo. University of Guelph CAMA Chapter Members Laura Fullerton and Grace Mullen represented CAMA and CABEF at this event by interacting with delegates from Canada and all over the world. They spread the word about the many benefits of being a CAMA member, and what the CABEF scholarship has to offer students pursuing post-secondary education in agriculture.

What will you do to help build sustainable solutions to feed 9 billion people?

The Agricultural Bioscience International Conference (ABIC 2017) is only a few weeks away! Our friends at the Life Science Association of Manitoba have been hard at work planning an incredible program for agribusiness delegates from around the globe.

This year's conference is taking place in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada from September 25-28. The action-packed week includes presentations led by some of the most admired and outspoken leaders in our industry. The conference also features an interactive tradeshow hall, a student research competition, industry tours, harvest dinners and more! Canadian Agri-Business Education Foundation Update

Fundraising Efforts At Best of CAMA
At the 2017 Best of CAMA award show, we are hosting both silent and live auctions and the popular Wall of Wine (WOW) to support the Canadian Agri-Business Education Foundation's scholarships. These six scholarships of $2500 each are given to graduating high school students across Canada that are pursuing futures in agriculture.
By contributing to this fundraiser, you are helping seed our nation's next crop of producers, agronomists and agri-marketers.

Silent Auction Suggestions
Consider putting together a themed gift basket which contains your logo, promo items and other items of interest.  Items that create a lot of excitement are:  sporting tickets, sports jerseys, electronics, prints, and farm toys.  Be creative!  (CABEF will pay the shipping for any items purchased.)

If you have a silent auction prize to donate, contact Mary Thornley at info@cabef.org.
