It may sound a bit strange at first because we have over a hundred personal quilts that Ruth has made. Ruth also makes her designs after things that appeal to her. However, with all that quilting, she doesn't do much for herself.
At the quilt club's retreat this weekend Ruth made her Velvet quilt. She used the "Dog In Sweaters" pattern by Elizabeth Hartman and made a single Velvet. As Velvet is only 50% dachshund, Ruth made her a bit shorter than the pattern. And, since Velvet had good eyes, Ruth didn't use the option with the glasses.
However, she did do something really special. Last Christmas, Ruth made Velvet a stylish coat to keep her warm. The sweater on the quilt is made from that coat.
A nice way to remember Velvet!
