TINY CHAPEL ON THE MOVE
The Tiny Chapel is on the move!
 
Wednesday evening services will be held in the Tiny Chapel in a location out in our community. The service of Evening Prayer or Healing Service will begin at 6:30 with conversation time following.  
 
The Tiny Chapel will be in the following location:
  • October 25th: The Parke Shopping Center at the corner of Hwy 183A and FM 1431 near Whole Foods 365.
Please join us at these locations and bring your friends as we take our worship in to the community.

TRUNK OR TREAT  OCTOBER 29, 2017  
Sunday, Oct. 29th  - 10:15 am - Service - Trick or Treating for Canned Goods - Teen Chaperones

For October's fifth Sunday service project, Roots teens will have the opportunity to help Kids Kingdom and Crossroads collect food items that will be donated to Hill Country Community Ministries.  Teen who are interests as serving as Teen Chaperones for the kids from Kids Kingdom and Crossroad are asked to contact Ms. Brielle.

Sunday, Oct. 29th - 10:15 am - Service - Trunk or Treat
Roots Youth Group will host CEC's 5th Trunk or Treat event on the last Sunday of October.  During Trunk or Treat, our church members decorate the trunks of their cars and hand out candy to children from our community.  Roots teens also provide  Carnival Games, Face Painting, and Food during the event. Roots will put out hot dogs, small bags of chips, lemon aid, water, and popcorn for Love Donations.
  • 4:30 pm - Setup for Trunk or Treat
  • 5:30 pm til 7:30 pm - Trunk or Treat - Roots runs Carnival Games
  • 7:30 pm til 8 pm - Clean up after Trunk or Treat

October 22  we will be continue a two-week rotation on the Story of the Wedding Feast.   This will include planning and hosting a banquet during  Sunday  school.  We need two workshop leaders for this lesson unit.  Attached are the lesson plans.  All supplies will be provided. 
 
In November, we have a need for two workshop leaders for our Parable of the Talents lesson on  November 12 and 19  and for one workshop leader for our Thanks and Giving lesson on  November 26

CHRISTIAN FORMATION
Christian Formation for Adults,  Sunday morning at 9:15 am. 

From now until Advent, we will study the Sunday lectionary readings for the week to come.  Come and discuss the readings.  It is wonderful to know the readings and then hear the sermon.

OCTOBER OUTREACH
Our October Mission in Action focus is on St. Stephen's in Beaumont.  Please bring in a gift card from Lowes, Home Depot or Wal-Mart to help the parishioners and neighbors of St. Stephen's begin the process of putting their lives back together.

October 29th, the 5th Sunday , we will be sharing our services together via a video link so that we can worship with our neighbors.
LIVING COMPASS WELLNESS RETREAT
CREATING A LIFE OF BALANCE, NOV. 18, 2017

Take the first steps to Creating a Life of Balance. response to the Congregational Assessment at Christ Episcopal Church (Living Compass Assessment ), the Wellness Commission will be holding a retreat on November 18, 2017 from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm.  

Using the Living Compass, we will explore ways to balance our Heart, Soul, Strength and Mind.
 area of the Living Compass will be covered.  Come and participle in interactive sessions that will help us all understand the Compass and wellness.

The Prayer Ministry is a group of people who are dedicated to praying daily for your intentions, your needs and those of your family and friends. Names will remain on the prayer list for one month. It will be necessary to resubmit names each month.
 
Please send the names of those for whom you wish to pray to   [email protected]  or complete one of the prayer cards in the pew and place in the prayer box as your exit or hand to one of the ushers. Please let us know if you require a call from either Fr. Trawin or Deacon Jan.

All requests are kept in strictest confidence and are only discussed within the ministry if clarification is needed.
