A LETTER FROM YOUR STEWARDSHIP CHAIRS
JAMES AND KAREN BAIGRIE
inviting you to
Stewardship/Pledge Sunday, November 5th, 2017

Dear members and friends of Sleepy Hollow Presbyterian Church,

Grace and peace to all of you, and thank you for your support of the church! We are grateful to be part of a church where each Sunday and in all our ministries, we feel the blessings of God's grace, and share those blessings with our neighbors. This is Stewardship season, when we ask you to prayerfully consider what God is calling you to pledge to the life of the church for the coming year. The church is self-supporting and relies on your pledges and gifts to support two-thirds of its annual operating expense. In 2018, we'd like to grow our ministries and programs, improve our support of our staff, and upgrade our church facilities.  With that in mind, we've set a pledge goal of $147,000.

2017 has been a challenging year in our nation and in the world, and a year of growth and renewed commitment here at church.  We have dedicated this season to practicing peace, and are welcoming new members to our shared peacemaking ministries.  Our Justice Garden and Farm Stand bring hundreds of pounds of beautiful organic produce to the wider community and fund hunger programs.  Our youth harvest from the garden to cook for the REST program, and our REST volunteers bring food, friendship, and dignity to the unhoused community. Our Mexico Mission transforms teens' lives by building homes for needy families.  We sponsored the first Marin County Youth Climate Change Summit for high school youth!  Our Sunday services welcome and nurture all ages with beauty from our Flower Guild, inspirational music from Director of Music Stephen Iverson and the SHPC Singers, and timely children's and adult messages of love and joy from Pastor Bev.  ( Check out the photo collage by clicking here)  God's Spirit is blessing our church abundantly!

November 5, 2017 is Stewardship Sunday.  Please bring your Pledge Cards ( pdf version here or more available at the church) to this celebration of our community and enjoy the Eldridge String Quartet and our Harvest Feast.  With your generous support, the church will continue to build up the peacemaking community for the good of the world. Please contact us, or Finance Elder Doug Eisinger, if you have any questions.

 With gratitude,

James and Karen Baigrie, Stewardship Chairs
