The Wave
October 27, 2017
With a heart full of memories, I want to thank the TRCS Community for your kind thoughts, as well as your care and help loving my dear friend Merilee J. Bales. She was one of the very, very good ones! You don't often find them in this lifetime, but when you do, you hang on and go for the ride of your life. We both knew that the end of her life was going to happen sooner than either of us would have hoped.  We had the time to say our good byes and know that each of us shared a unique and special history together. Here is a few pictures of my dear friend.

Godspeed Mer - we will meet again and take up just where we left off! I will watch after our little project TRCS in your absence.  Much love to you!

Parents of 4/5th, you are invited to join but 4/5th grade students will not be able to partake in using their cell phones during the year.  In order to earn a license to have their cell phone out at school, students AND parents are required to attend the meeting on October 30th at either 3:15 or 6:45 pm. Students will be given their phone usage manual to study. There will be an online test given at school to earn a license to apply to the back of their student body card.

Harvest Party - Oct 30
We truly love fall! The weather, the leaves - its all incredible. We will be having some fun on Monday October 30th.  There are some school games in store, planned by our leadership students. We then will have lunch at school and head to Fiala farms. We will go through the corn maze as school families. It will be a great way to celebrate the fall and move into the coming 2 days away from school.  October 31 and November 1 are days away.  Our staff will be here planning term 2 curriculum.  Please have a safe and fun Halloween with your family and friends!

Poetry Contest
We are participating in the Scholastic Student Poetry Contest this year! Students must submit their poetry by November 6th in order to meet the mailing deadline. Each student may submit only  one original poem on any subject, no less than 2 lines and no more than 20 lines. Winners can earn $25-100 for entering, with a grand prize of $500.
4th & 5th Grade Art
In art, students will begin a mask making unit next week! 4th and 5th grade parents, please make sure your student brings an old shirt to wear for mask making next Thursday, November 2nd.  If possible, a shower cap or head band would be really helpful to hold bangs/hair back.
Leadership
We took a group of 4th and 5th grade students to NW Children's Outreach this week for our community service outing. The students did such an amazing job representing TRCS and got several compliments from other volunteers! The group helped sort children's shoes, socks, pajamas, toys, and coats so that they can be distributed to kids in need throughout our community. You can read more about this organization here
