Voters' Meeting
Abiding Word's third quarter voters' meeting will be held this Tuesday, October 24 at 7:00pm.
All members are encouraged to attend.

Reformation Weekend @ Abiding Word
- Saturday, October 28th from 10am-12pm, Pastor John Braun, author of Luther's Protest: From 95 Theses to Reformation, will present the reformation lecture. You are welcome to stay for lunch afterward.
- Sunday, October 29th 4:00pm, area reformation service with meal to follow. Pastor John Braun will be the guest preacher. The reformation offering will go to the MLC grant program.

Mornings with Mommy
Friday, October 27 at 10:00 am this is a program for children 0-5 years and their "moms." The theme is "Pumpkins and Leaves." Register at awlcs.org and look under Early Childhood tab.
We are in need of a few volunteers to help with craft and snack preparations for Mornings with Mommy. If you are interested, please speak with Candice Learman.

Mom's Anchored in Christ
(MAC) is a group of mom's that meet once a month for a bible study and bunco or an evening out. We will be going to "Escape in Time" in The Woodlands on Saturday, November 11 at 6:00 pm. If you are interested or want more information contact Candice Learman (760-644-4605).

Book Fair
AWLS Book Fair will be open during the Fall Festival and again
on Sunday
, in between services and bible study, and after late service.

is the last day to shop! All purchases help us buy more books for the school classrooms and library. Thanks for your support!

Fun Fellowship
What is Fun Fellowship?? It's a new activity where everyone is welcome and anyone can host an event. Just think of something fun to do like
going to a game, having a kickball tournament, seeing a play, whatever you think would be fun and contact the church office to publicize your event and get it on the church calendar. Don't feel like you have to host on your own, get your church group involved and host together. (ROC, LYC, Young Adults, Choir, SHINE, Church Council)
Our first event is a Chris Tomlin concert hosted by Jascha and Krista Patton.
When: Saturday, October 28 at 7:00pm, Chris will go on around 9:00
Where: 2203 Riva Row, The Woodlands TX
We will be provide waters, dip and chips and grilled sausage. There is a grill so feel free to bring something to grill and something to share
if you want to.

Change to Church Bylaw
In a few weeks, we will be looking to make an addition to the bylaws. We are looking to create an Endowment Fund. This important fund will serve our God and our congregation today, tomorrow, and in the future. Through planned giving we can support the long-term ministry of the congregation in keeping with our mission to reach out with the gospel to win the lost for Christ and to nurture believers for lives of Christian service, all to the glory of God.
Attached you will find a copy of the Bylaws for the creation and management of the Endowment Fund and how this fund can and will be distributed.
Please take the time to read and understand this important information that will be a blessing both to you and to the generations to come.

Kitchen Organization/Cleaning
The Caretaker Committee is facilitating a kitchen organization/cleaning day on
October 28th
from
9-noon
. If you are interested in volunteering your time in this way, feel free to bring cleaning supplies and/or a label maker. We are looking forward to tending to the kitchen before the start of the Advent season. If you have any questions, please contact Monika Mitby or Rebekah Patterson. Open Gym Moves to Sundays
In November open gym will be held on Sundays from 7:00- 8:30. The next three
in October are still on Thursdays. Contact Athletic Director Matt Lange with any questions.

Thanksgiving Camping Trip
Calling All Abiding Word Campers! Those of you who are interested in joining us on our annual camping trip to Huntsville State Park November 24 and 25, please contact Debby Perry. There are limited spots available so it will be "first come, first served"...see me for details!
