Lori's Elite Hair Design in Dansville got a new look, and what a difference an awning makes! Owner Lori O'Neal added two new awnings to her building which bring attention to her business, and add dimension to the building. The awnings and energy efficient windows were made possible with the help of the Livingston County Sign and Facade Improvement grant which is available to businesses in the downtown districts. THE 2017 "EAT IN LIVINGSTON" CONTEST
October 23 - November 4
 
Savor the Flavor and eat in Livingston County this month! When you spend $7 or more at a participating restaurant, you could win a $25 gift card to a Livingston County restaurant! Just submit an entry form at the restaurant when you make your purchase for a chance to win. This contest starts on October 23rd and runs through November 4th. Winners will be announced on November 10th.

MOOG ROCKETRY CHALLENGE
October 28, 9 AM - 4 PM
National Warplane Museum
 
The MOOG Corporation and Rochester MARS supports young people interested in engineering and rocketry with the MOOG Rocket Challenge. Join the students as they fly their rockets and try to qualify for the national level competition. Raid date will be October 29th and the event is free to the public.

DEFENSIVE DRIVING COURSE
October 24-25 6 PM - 9 PM
Calbranch Insurance Agency, Caledonia
 
This is a classroom-style defensive driver course that will run for two days (6-9pm both days) for a total of 6hrs. Completing the course will remove up to 4pts on your license and will help you save up to 10% on your auto insurance premium. The cost is $25.

  Nancy Lynch returns to present Vietnam Mailbag: Voices from the War 1968-1972. Her appearance coincides with the weekly re-airing on WXXI of The Vietnam War, a documentary film by Ken Burns and Lynn Novick. Vietnam Mailbag was included among the resources collected by Burns prior to researching his film.

FIVE HOUR PRE-LICENSE COURSE

The Five Hour Pre-License Course is open to any person from any community. You must possess a NYS Learner's Permit to take the Five Hour Course. The Five Hour Course is required in order to register for a NYS road test, unless you have completed driver education. $35 per student.
