Sharing your Food with the Hungry
and Providing the Poor Wanderer with Shelter
In Isaiah chapter 58 God provides his definition for the kind of worship he desires from his followers. He calls for us to be dedicated to helping others in need, helping the hungry and helping the homeless. This is the focus of ministry God has called us to follow. Then our words about the Kingdom of God will find listening ears among the hurting and the seekers of God.
This Sunday, following our worship time, Ekklesia people will have an opportunity to put together Blessing Bags for the homeless. These bags will provide small supplies of needed items that homeless people might find useful. The weather is turning nasty and they will need gloves, dry socks or even a warm winter beanie to cover their head. Consider the list below to help you pick up items at the store. Bring them on Sunday morning and we will take time following our worship to put together the items into a blessing bag to give out to the needy in the next few weeks.
