PHRA 2017 Annual Conference & Exhibition

Support the
412 Food Rescue at the
Annual Conference!

412 Food Rescue is a non-profit organization that prevents food from entering the waste stream by rescuing perfectly good, healthy food and delivering it directly to non-profit organizations who serve communities experiencing food insecurity.

In just over two years of operation, 412 Food Rescue volunteers (#FoodRescueHeroes) have rescued 1.5 million pounds of surplus food from going to waste and instead, going directly to people who need it.
Representatives for the 412 Food Rescue will be at PHRA's Annual Conference to explain how you can volunteer! We will also be holding a specialized food drive to support their mission.

We are asking our members and conference participants to donate non-perishable items to the refugee community served by South Hills Interfaith Movement.

Items Requested:
  • Dried beans and lentils (favorites include kidney beans and red lentils
  • Rice
  • Other grains including bulgur wheat
  • Quinoa
  • Cooking oil
  • Flour
  • Sugar
  • Spices (including salt, pepper, garlic, chili, ginger, cumin, turmeric, etc.)
All donations need dropped off at the Doubletree in Greentree by 12:00 PM on October 11th.

Thank you in advance for your participation!

Sincerely,

Member Benefit: The Job Shadow Program
The PHRA Job Shadow Program is an unpaid, one or two day experience during which current PHRA students are exposed to a professional human resources environment. Through participation, students will observe first-hand an organization's culture and experience the human resources function in a discipline of interest. Job Sharing allows a student to walk through a typical day with a working professional and get a sneak peek into various careers paths and positions therein.

The overall purpose is to increase career awareness. Participants have the opportunity to gain a better understanding of connecting their major to a career and also able to network with business professionals, observe human resource operations, and experience an organization's culture. The program promotes a learning environment by linking working professionals to students and assisting students in making decisions regarding their career.
