Moisturizing for the different skin types

Every skin type needs moisture, but each skin type has different needs as to how that moisture is applied to the skin. If the wrong type of moisture is applied, it will either be ineffective or cause more problems than there were before. In this article we will go over the main various skin types, along with the best way to give your skin the type of moisture it needs.

Oily/Acne Prone
This type has very strong needs for hydration, but without clogging or causing more acne. Most Oily/Acne prone, have stripped their skin with strong acids, exfoliatoin and stripping cleansers which has caused their skin to pump out alot of oil in order to compensate for the loss of lipids in the skin. This increased oil also causes clogging on the skin, and often acne as well. This type of skin does best with only hydrating serums, plus a touch of a light carrier oil if needed for lipid replenishment. They do best avoiding all of the products mentioned above in excess.. strong acids, exfoliation and stripping cleansers.
Some Great Topical Combinations -
Juniper Hydrosol Gel plus Prickly Pear Seed Oil
Encapsulated Glacier Water Gel plus Safflower Oil
or pair our Blemish Prone Treatment Serum with one of the above oils, Hemp Seed, Passion Fruit or Evening Primrose Oils.

Dehydrated/Acne Prone
This type also has very strong needs for hydration, but also really is in desperate need of lipid replenishment. Like Oily/Acne Prone skin, they have often stripped their skin with strong acids, exfoliation and stripping cleansers which has led them to have less lipids in their skin to hold onto the hydration in their skin. Dehydrated/Acne Prone skin often needs a combination of hydrating serums plus oils or a light butter.  Like the Oily/Acne Prone Skin, they do best avoiding all of the products mentioned above in excess.. strong acids, exfoliation and stripping cleansers.
Some Great Topical Combinations -
Frankincense Hydrosol Gel plus Evening Primrose Oil
Envapsulated Glacier Water Gel plus Hemp Seed Oil
Blemish Prone Treatment Serum plus with one of the above oils, Hemp Seed, Passion Fruit Oil or Evening Primrose Oil

Rosacea/Oily (more rare)
Generally people with Rosacea also have Dehydrated Skin, and this is because alot of what causes Rosacea, also causes Dehydration. Rosacea/Oily Skin still needs hydration, and a touch of oil at times too. Rosacea is often caused from the same things as the above skin types, strong acids, exfoliation and stripping cleansers. In fact we do not suggest using any of these, while healing your skin from Rosacea.
Some Great Topical Combinations -
Banana Healing Serum plus Hemp Seed Oil
Oat Enriched Serum plus Evening Primrose Oil
Encapsulated Glacier Water Gel plus Passion Fruit Seed Oil

Rosacea/Dehydrated (sometimes Acne Prone)
This is the most common with Rosacea, and often can present with acne as well. Rosacea is often caused from the same things as the above skin types, strong acids, exfoliation and stripping Cleansers. In fact we do not suggest using any of these, while healing your skin from Rosacea. In fact we do not suggest using any of these, while healing your skin from Rosacea.
Some Great Topical Combinations -
Banana Healing Serum plus Hemp Seed Oil
Oat Enriched Serum plus Evening Primrose Oil
Encapsulated Glacier Water Gel plus Passion Fruit Seed Oil
If also acne prone.. you can use the SAME ones :)

Dry and or Dry/Aging
As long as this type of skin is not also Acne prone a cream, moisturizer or lotion is your best bet for holding moisture to your skin. Dry skin types should also avoid surfactant/soap type cleansers, excessive acids and excessive exfoliation. (this can only contribute)
Some Great Topical Combinations -
Spritz with Rose Hydrosol then apply McDreamy Cream
Spritz with Cherry or Blueberry Hydrating Mist then apply Renew Cream
w/Renovage
Spritz with Calendula Blossom Hydrating Mist then apply Classic Chamomile Cream
- If also acne prone, this becomes just a bit more complicated, as you cannot use a cream. In this case we suggest using a Hydrating Serum plus EAST Shea butter
- if also Aging (as long as not acne prone)
Spritz with Rose Hydrosol plus Age Defying Radiant Cream
Spritz with Frankincense Hydrosol plus Progeline Peptide Repair Cream
Spritz with Carrot Seed Hydrosol plus Fountain of Lycopene Cream

*when using oil, remember to only use 2-4 drops total (more for dry skin, less for oily skin) and mix it with your hydrator in the palm of your hand, then pat into skin.

Zinc Pyrithione
What is this ingredient, and how can it help my skin?

This is a new ingredient that we are working with. We are developing products with this ingredient. The first product we are working on is a serum that can help acne prone skin that is also experiencing Topical Yeast,
Seborrheic Dermatitis and /or Eczema.

What are these different skin ailments, and what causes them?

Topical Yeast
There are many types of topical yeast that can cause issues on the skin. Generally, they cause itching, redness and yeast related acne. Pityrosporum Folliculitis is one of the most common ones to have on the facial skin.

Seborrheic Dermatitis
From WikiPedia "Seborrhoeic dermatitis, also known as seborrhea, is a long term skin disorder. Symptoms include red, scaly, greasy, itchy, and inflamed skin. Often the scalp, face, and chest are affected.  It can result in social or self-esteem problems. In babies, when the scalp is primarily involved,
it is called cradle cap. Dandruff is a milder form of the condition, without
associated inflammation."

Eczema
From WikiPedia "Dermatitis, also known as eczema, is a group of diseases that results in inflammation of the skin. These diseases are characterized by itchiness, red skin, and a rash.  In cases of short duration there may be small blisters while in long-term cases the skin may become thickened.  The area of skin involved can vary from small to the entire body."

In each of these cases, we believe that surfactants, soap, acids and other irritants are the cause. In some cases, diet plays a role too. Of course
allergies can also contribute.

Other things that can contribute that we don't often think about..
*the detergent we use to wash our clothes.
*certain fabrics can be irritating
*perfumes (in some cases skin is so sensitive they cannot wear
      perfumes, even natural ones)
*environmental pollutants .. smoke, pesticides, pollution, etc.
*coming in contact with allergens/irritants that you may be allergic to.

What is Zinc Pyrithione?
From Wikipedia- "Zinc pyrithione (or pyrithione zinc) is a coordination
complex
of zinc . It has fungistatic (that is, it inhibits the division of
fungal cells) and bacteriostatic (inhibits bacterial cell division)
properties and is used in the treatment of seborrhoeic dermatitis."

Zinc Pyrithione is used to treat Dandruff, Eczema and Topical Facial Yeasts.
This is because it is an extremely effective anti-fungal, anti-bacterial
and anti-inflammatory ingredient.

This ingredient has the potential to help with so many things, that we are
planning on creating a serum and a cream.

Even Head and Shoulders is now using this ingredient in their hair
care line. Unfortunately they are still using many of the same
surfactants and fillers that help contribute to the problem.

We can also do custom products so feel free to email us about this!

These are our newest samples available for adding onto your orders. 1 per order please read disclaimer on the page for these samples.

Our latest hydration serum featuring Snail Secretion Filtrate, Panthenol D, White Licorice Root and L-Arginine, this serum is meant to hydrate the skin deeply while protecting the skin barrier.
We formulated this to be soothing and preventative for Seborrheic Dermatitis, and would love your feedback!
There is a story behind this. We have a customer/friend here in town. She had a severe case of Shingles and was so miserable. It broke our hearts. She had been reading everything she could find for a natural way to soothing the itching and burning that is associated with Shingles. I have suffered from them many years ago and can understand how miserable she was. She came to us with the information about "Jackass Bitters" and we added what would be soothing and healing to the blend. She did go through a lot of the product. About 8 ounces every few days. Although we can't make any sort of miracle claim, she was pretty astonished with the results. :-)

This new sample is pretty fantastic if we say so ourselves. We have combined peptides, antioxidants and other anti aging ingredients for a power pack punched dose of "See ya later lines and wrinkles!"
Promotes thicker hair growth at the follicle level by stimulating the hair shaft. Would love to have feedback on this!

Signature Confirmation

We are strongly suggesting that our customers add signature confirmation to every order, as the post office has had an upswing in improperly delivering packages recently.

To thoroughly protect your valued items, we do suggest adding this service.
We have been replacing packages that the post office has been not taking responsibility for. With a GPS tracking system in place we are incredibly disappointed that they are still making so many mistakes. We are hoping perhaps they have a shift in employees to take care of these mistakes.

If this happens too often, we might need to require Signature Confirmation.

Concentrated Products

Please NOTE .. our products are all concentrated. Keep this in mind
when using them. Particularly, the cleansers are very rich as we
don't dilute them with a ton of water and unnecessary fillers. Use
sparingly and see how
your skin behaves. If it is tight, next time,
use less and so on.After a couple of tries and your skin isn't
happy switch to another cleanser.
