President's Message
Luke J. Adamo, MAI
This year has certainly been interesting.  After the successful merger with Northern Nevada last year, local chapters throughout the country have been challenged with last year's Board approval of the Chapter Financial Management & Administration Policy (CFMAP) and this year's presentation of a new governance structure project team (GSPT) recommendations in July.

The recommendations may affect all our involvement with the Appraisal Institute as a chapter and an organization.  Project Team member, Ted Whitmer, MAI, AI-GRS provided a GSPT presentation and discussed the recommendations at the August chapter meeting.  Everyone is encouraged to visit the GSPT web page, read the documents and comment.  The link to view the recommendations or submit comments can be accessed here (AI log-in is required).

At the August National Board of Directors meeting, the Board accepted the resignation of Frederick Grubbe and appointed 2017 Appraisal Institute President Jim Amorin, MAI, SRA, AI-GRS as the organization's Acting CEO. Mr. Amorin will continue as President through his term, which ends December 31. A CEO Search Project Team has been appointed and they will be making recommendations to national Board in the coming months.

The 7 th annual Las Vegas Market Symposium 2017  was a great success!  Thank you to those that were able to attend or sponsor the Symposium.

In other education news, the November 30th Business Practices & Ethics course is the last course of 2017.  2018 education plans are being formulated and some programs, such the 2018-2019 National USPAP Update courses have been scheduled.  Registration will become available within the next few weeks.  Check the chapter website education page in the coming weeks to view the complete 2018 schedule.

As we close in on the year-end, I'd like to thank the board members for their time and consideration this year and our Executive Director, Tina Anderson, for her hard work.
Welcome
Welcome to the Nevada Chapter!
