Properly disposing of prescription medications, especially those with addictive properties such as opiates, has never been more important.

Department of Consumer Protection Homemaker-Companion Fact Sheet

Professional homemaker-companion services provide nonmedical assistance to older adults and individuals with disabilities to help them lead independent lives. These important services and supports often include grocery shopping, meal preparation, laundry, light housekeeping and arranging for transportation to appointments.

The Department of Consumer Protection recently released a fact sheet for consumers looking to hire homemaker-companions. The fact sheet is meant to help families understand the process of working with homemaker-companion agencies so they are able to make the best decisions possible for their specific needs.

Click HERE to download the Department of Consumer Protection's new fact sheet and visit 2-1-1's Older Adults Page or My Place CT for additional information on homemaker-companion services and other long term supports and services.
