Harvanek Elected to Colorado Golf Hall of Fame

Danny Harvanek, a three-time Colorado PGA Golf Professional of the Year and the 2007 PGA of America Youth Player Development Award Winner, was elected into the Colorado Golf Hall of Fame on Wednesday. Harvanek is a noted instructor having won the Colorado PGA Teacher of the Year Award in 2003 and the 2006 Youth Player Development Award. He went on to write eight books directed towards effectively teaching the game of golf to youngsters.

Also elected on Wednesday was former USGA Executive Committee member Jim Bunch of Denver, CO.

Pfingston Named Golf Person of the Year by Colorado Golf Hall of Fame

Mark Pfingston was named the Golf Person of the Year by the Colorado Golf Hall of Fame on Wednesday. Pfingston, the Head Professional at the Golf Club at Bear Dance, will accept his award as the PGA of America Public Merchandiser of the Year next week at the PGA of America Annual Meeting in Austin, Texas. Pfingston is the fourth Colorado PGA Professional to earn Merchandiser of the Year honors from the PGA of America since 2012.

Cole Earns OMEGA Senior Player of the Year Title

Rick Cole, PGA, Head Golf Professional at the Eaton Country Club, earned the 2017 OMEGA Senior Player of the Year Award. This recognition is given annually to a PGA Professional, 50 years of age or older, for outstanding play throughout the past year and in rep­resenting PGA Professionals with distinction in competition.

Hebert Notches Omni Interlocken Tri-Am Victory

Andrew Hebert, PGA Assistant Professional at Indian Peaks Golf Course in Lafayette, Colo., fired impressive rounds of 33-34-35 to claim victory at the Omni-Interlocken Tri-Am on Monday, October 23, 2017. Hebert's six-under-par finish in the 27-hole event was enough for a three-shot victory over Doug Rohrbaugh, PGA Director of Golf at Ironbridge Golf Club.

Eric Bradley, PGA Head Professional at Blackstone Country Club, led his team to a 23-under-par round and a first place finish.

Colorado-based CommonGround, Four Mile Ranch  Named in Golf Digest's 'Most Bang for Your Buck' List

Golf Digest recently published a list of the "25 Courses That Offer the Most Bang for Your Buck" nationwide and in Canada, and two Colorado courses were included. CommonGround Golf Course, the CGA-owned and operated facility in Aurora, and Four Mile Ranch Golf Club in Canon City made the grade.

Colorado Golf Hall of Famer Jobe remains in 8th place in PGA Tour Champions playoff standings

Colorado Golf Hall of Famer Brandt Jobe remained in the top 10 in the Charles Schwab Cup Playoff standings on Sunday despite a 47th-place finish in the Dominion Energy Charity Classic in Richmond, Va., the first of three PGA Tour Champions playoff tournaments.

Gus Andreone Receives France's Highest Recognition

PGA Professional Gus Andreone's rich, exceptional life got a bit richer Tuesday afternoon. The oldest member of the PGA of America at 106, Andreone was welcomed by the country of France into one of the world's most distinguished "clubs" - the Order of the Legion of Honor.

The U.S. Women's Open is coming to Pebble Beach for the first time

Pebble Beach will host the U.S. Women's Open in 2023, marking the first time the event will be held there. The USGA made that announcement on Tuesday morning in addition to naming the historic course on the Monterey Peninsula as the site for the 2027 U.S. Open.
