Fall Update - 2017 Retreat Season Wraps Up

We've just completed our 2017 Retreat Season, and what a great one it has been! 29 Retreats in 19 States and New Zealand, serving over 375 courageous men living with cancer. Over 700 dedicated, caring volunteers actively assisted us: organizing and staffing the retreats, raising funds, recruiting participants, just getting the word out! Every retreat was completely free of charge to the participants, and we thank ALL of you in our Community who have supported us this year and helped us give our participants a life-changing exp erience. We Welcome Shiloh Price to our Staff

Our Full-Time Staff has just grown by 50% (we're now three) with the addition of Shiloh Price as Program Administrator. Shiloh has been helping Reel Recovery part-time since 2015 and has been a supporter/volunteer since 2007. Shiloh brings her extensive management and administrative experience as well as public relations skills to the Reel Recovery Team. We're delighted to have her on board as we look to expand in 2018 and beyond.

New Reel Recovery Videos

Reel Recovery Board member Travis Swartz is a professional filmmaker (when not moonlighting as "Hank Patterson") and he has put together 6 beautiful short videos promoting Reel Recovery. We hear from Fishing Buddies and Participants alike, and their heartfelt stories truly capture the essence of what we do. Take a look.

Fundraising Champs!

Fellow 2016 Oregon Retreat Alums Bob, Dave, Paul & Robert, and volunteers Jeff and Doug raised over $7,000 for our Oregon Program by raffling off this beautiful hand-made canoe, built by Oregon State Coordinator Loran Wiese. This dedicated group sold hundreds of tickets and worked for months getting the word out about our great Oregon Program. Raising funds and awareness at the same time - well done gentlemen!

For 8 years running, fishing guide Walt Geryk has conducted "Spey Day on the Deerfield River" in Western Massachusetts, with all proceeds benefiting Reel Recovery. Walt does it all out of the goodness of his heart and belief in our cause, and has rallied dozens of generous auction donors to participate each year. Walt has now raised over $30,000 for Reel Recovery and the event keeps growing every year! Looking forward to Spey Day 2018!

All of our retreats are completely free to the participants and we depend on your generous support to serve more courageous men in 2018.
