Insulin For Life USA Helps Hurricane T1Ds
The past couple of months have been fraught with natural disaster as Hurricanes
Harvey, Maria, and Irma touched down in Texas, Puerto Rico, and Florida, as well as the surrounding areas and islands. The results were devastating for many families and homes. Every day, the question arises: "How can we help?". The Chris Dudley Foundation touched base with non-profit organization Insulin For Life to hear about their efforts to support people with diabetes who have been affected by these tragic events.
"Insulin for Life USA is honored to be working in a coalition which includes: Insulin for Life USA, ADA, JDRF, AADE, ACE, Endocrine Society.", stated IFL executive director, Carol Atkinson. IFL is working with the coalition to respond to the increased need for insulin, blood glucose meter, and test strips, as well as other pertinent diabetes management supplies. Thankfully, IFL's office in Gainsville, FL was spared by Hurricane Irma and the organization is dedicated to providing the necessary supplies.
As of September 2, IFL had shipped 78 boxes to various sites around Texas, including
