The marina office

from  12:30 PM to

If you call on Tuesday or Wednesday, just leave a message and we'll follow up on Thursday.

 

The office is closed during City observed holidays.
Please contact the Marina office if you notice that a dock needs repair or maintenance, a dock light is out, etc.
All dock gates should be kept closed to help ensure the security of the boats and belongings of all marina patrons.
 
If a dock gate is open, shut it.
 
If you see suspicious activity, please contact the office or the Rock Island Police Department if it's after hours.
Don't forget about our slip referral program.
 
If you're a current leaseholder and know someone interested in a slip, send them in!
 
Make sure they mention your name when they rent a slip so you can receive 10% of the slip lease amount up to $100.
Fishing off the docks is not allowed in the marina.
 
This is to prevent hooks from getting caught in neighboring boat canvas, getting stuck in the dock frame work where it could injure workers making repairs and to keep lost fishing line from getting wrapping around a prop.   
Grilling is permitted only when using an approved electric grill that is properly attached to the boat.
 
As a safety measure, the fire code does not permit other types of grilling in the marina on land or on the docks.
Marina Office Hours
The marina will be closed from November 21st through November 29th and reopen at 8:30A on Thursday, November 30th.

Don't forget to tell your boating friends and family about the new BOGO 1.5.
 
When you refer a new customer, they rent a slip for ½ price for 2018!!
 
When they rent again in 2019, you'll be eligible for a discount equal to 25% of their slip fee.
 
Call the office or visit the website for the official rules.

Annual Survey
The annual survey of Sunset Marina boaters is one of our most important tools for gathering input from the Marina customers.
 
The survey is available to complete on the City website at rigov.org/marina. The link is at the bottom of the page.
 
Please take a couple minutes to fill out the survey.
 
Individual paper copies will not be mailed but are available upon request.

Pre-Leasing Available for New Leaseholders
New leaseholders can prelease a slip for 2018.
 
They can choose from any slip that was still available at the end of 2017.
 
Contact the marina office for a pre-lease agreement.
 
View the slip list on line or ask for a copy to be mailed.

Restroom Lighting Upgrade
With the assistance of the Electrical Division and a rebate from MidAmerican Energy, we were able to upgrade the lighting to LED in the women's and men's restrooms!
 
This will reduce our electricity costs as well as maintenance costs. Plus it looks great!
Contracts
Contract packets will be mailed the first part of December and are due back on January 6th so watch your mail.

Kidde has issued a recall for more than 40 million fire extinguishers.

After Hours Emergencies

If you have an emergency situation after the office has closed, you may call the regular office number 309-732-2282.

 

At the recorded message, select 2 and you will be transferred to the water plant.

 

They will contact the appropriate person for marina emergencies.
