Occupation: Pro Account Sales Associate at The Home Depot

How long have you lived/worked in Portage County?
I don't currently live or work in Portage County. However, I visit the area frequently and enjoy attending Ignite events.

What is the most rewarding professional or student experience you have had?
I expressed interest in a different position within Home Depot, but I was told that I didn't have the knowledge and experience they were looking for. I understood they were looking for something different, but I still did my best to help that department until they could find a qualified candidate. After working hard, not only did they recognize my dedication and ability to upskill rapidly, they ended up offering me the position.

What is something you hope to accomplish in the next year?
I hope to better hone my leadership and communication skills and help others become what they aspire to be.

Why did you get involved with Ignite?
I got involved with Ignite because of my sister. She knows how much I like to volunteer and learn about the different businesses and opportunities in the community. She invited me to a few events and then I became a member since I enjoyed the group so much.

What advice would you give to other young professionals looking to make their mark?
Don't be afraid-whether it is trying something different or talking to new people. You can really find yourself and see what you're capable of. Once you know what you can do, that's when you really flourish and make your mark.

Do you volunteer or belong to other organizations?
I volunteer for the Heart of Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce , so I can be involved in the community. Team Depot for The Home Depot is another group I volunteer for that helps veterans in need.

What is a little-known fact about yourself?
I have a pretty cool hat collection.
