Perseverance
" And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance;
and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope;"
Romans 5:3-4
Did you know?
Our music teacher, Ms. Carlson, is a classically trained soprano. Ms. Carlson has earned her bachelors degree in Choral Music Education and Vocal Performance from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, and her graduate degree in Vocal Performance from the University of South Dakota. She has had the opportunity to teach middle and high school students as well as adult students in the classroom, choral rehearsal, and private studio. Ms. Carlson strives to provide an education experience for all students that is positive, individualized, challenging, and engaging.
This is an evening for ALL ages, children, teens, and adults, to be inspired by the Rosary, and was requested by some of our school parents. Join us at St. Anthony on the Lake on Thursday, October 5th from 6:30-8pm in the PLC (school cafeteria). If this is your first time praying the Rosary, it's been a long time, or a regular devotion, we hope you come to pray as a community. Mike Patin, a national speaker from Louisiana will be our emcee for the evening. Katie McGaver, one of our parents, will be giving a beautiful testimony, and we will pray the rosary while a candle is lit for each prayer.   An Ice Cream Social will conclude our event.  There will be a free-will offering and sign-up is appreciated but not necessary.  Hope to see you there!

Much more information about things going on in our parish and Lifelong Faith Formation department can be found in our CONNECTIONS NEWSLETTER. A new one will be out Thursday. If you would like to be added to this list, email Angie.

Mary Matestic is the adult speaker tonight, Monday, October 2. Please join us from 6:25-7:25 in the PLC.

October 2 , 2017
From the Desk of Ellen Knippel, Principal

Dear Parents,
Well, it's official! We have entered into October! September has certainly been a beautiful month! Now, let's look forward to some cool, crisp, sweater weather!

Thanks everyone, for your patience with StandardsScore and getting mid-quarter grades! We are hoping to have passwords to all families by Friday. StandardsScore is changing our report cards to reflect standards based grading and there have been a couple of glitches. Thank you, Susan Barnhart for all your work in getting this up and running. Detailed information will be coming home next week!

Note for NEXT year's calendar: Teacher's convention will take place on October 4th and 5th, 2018. This is a week earlier than usual. I know many families plan vacations around this long weekend so I thought I'd give everyone those dates now.

Thanks to all new and mentor families who were able to join us for our "New Family Breakfast"! We had over 100 people attend! Thanks to Jen Packee and the Mentor and Marketing Committees for hosting. As new or "seasoned" families, please don't hesitate to call Bonita or me if you have questions or concerns about any school issues! As always, I encourage you to email your child's teacher with any classroom concerns. Please don't wait and see if it "irons itself out". The sooner the better will solve issues quickly!

Blessings!

Mrs. Ellen Knippel
