This Sunday at Christ Church
Faith & Practice

Richard Clemmitt, Our Organist and Choirmaster, will lead us this Sunday at Faith &  Practice.
Richard will answer the question, "What Every Episcopalian Should Know About our Singing Tradition." Richard will touch on a variety of aspects of our tradition from melody to lyrics to his own experience composing music for Sunday worship. He will share his thoughts with us in the choir from 10:45-11:30.
Next Sunday's, Nov. 5, Faith & Practice Brings us a
Special Guest with a Special Story
Christopher's two sons, Nick and Martin, have a good friend named Elliot Varney. They  grew up together in Jackson. Elliot is a second year medical student at University Medical Center in Mississippi. A few years ago, Elliot was driving home, sober and without texting, when he hit and killed a Jackson City policeman who had wandered too far onto the highway while stopping another motorist. What Elliot, who is white, went through while initially being charged with killing a black police officer is harrowing. Elliot's experience of resilience, vulnerability, mercy, and faith has changed the way he is looking at the rest of his life. He will share that story with us next week.
Parish News
A nationwide search for a new Youth Minister of Christ Church has begun.
We hope you will offer us your guidance and prayers as we embark on this journey.  Please click here  for a description of our search effort and committee.

What can you do to assist us in this process?  Please communicate the position to anyone you know in strong and like-thinking church communities around the country.  If you know anyone at churches that have a successful program, ask if they have an assistant Youth Minister who is ready to lead and desires a full-time job.  Ask if they have a Youth Minister who would like to relocate to Chicago.

Thank you in advance!  Laura Zung & Jennifer Baker.  You can reach the whole team through this address: [email protected] .
