The Wave
November 17, 2017
Katherine Holtgraves: I am grateful, more than ever, for the life that we all have. For the friends and family that are in my heart over these and forever holidays. I can't wait to get away and take some long walks on the beach...eat amazing food prepared with love...and spend the holiday with my most important people!   Happy gift of friends/family day to everyone.

Denise Collins:  The Collins family will be celebrating the week long break with time at home.  Thanksgiving dinner will find us together with our sons around the table.  We will have a potluck - turkey, mashed potatoes, sausage stuffing, cranberries, and so much more!  We will reflect on our many blessings, which includes, of course, our granddaughter, who has now begun her writing career.  She has learned how to write her name and copy words!  She is excited to be able to show Grandma her newfound skill!

Megan Elston: I am headed to Orlando for a lacrosse tournament at ESPN - The Wide World of Sports! My family is meeting me there and we will head to West Palm Beach to celebrate with Grady's east coast grandparents and aunts and uncles for Thanksgiving! We are looking forward to a warm stretch of weather. I am always thankful for my friends and family and the notion that I am able to travel across time zones to be with them. I am also grateful for my coworkers who don't seem to mind when November rolls around and I have to traipse across the country to coach lacrosse, another thing I love!

Torii Holtgraves: Thanksgiving has always been about enjoying the small moments with the people you love. This break, my family and I plan to spend it at the beach, doing just that.

Barb Murray: I am going to have a quiet Thanksgiving with just my immediate family this year.  It will be a wonderful time to simply spend time together.  We are a board game group, so I'm anticipating some good conversation along with some healthy competition over who can come up with the best Scrabble words and defending my unbeaten record of winning at Risk!

Johanna Mitchell: I will be hosting family, including my brother, who is visiting from Montana. We plan to eat a lot of good food, watch holiday movies, and spend time together. I'm thankful to be back home in Oregon, surrounded by family and lifelong friends!

Jasmine Olson: This Thanksgiving, I am celebrating the holiday with my friends. We spend the day making and decorating nutmeg cookies, then prepare a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. The next day, we join opt outside and spend the day on a lovely hike, rain or shine! This year, I am very grateful to have been welcomed to the TRCS community by the staff, students, and parents that make this school such a wonderful place to be!

Elizabeth Mathis: My family is doing something new this Thanksgiving - the four of us have rented a house at the coast and will be spending a cozy, long weekend together. Three out of the four of us have birthdays to celebrate next week as well! I am so thankful for the health and happiness of all of the wonderful children in my life!

Lynn Croissant: My family will enjoy a Thanksgiving feast at my dad's house on Thursday. Then we will spend the weekend in Trout Lake, WA continuing the holiday celebrating thankfulness with extended family. We will play board games, put together puzzles and spend lots of quality time together. If the weather cooperates we will go on a hike, or sledding!

Jill Pellico:  I will be enjoying the company of several family members as we gather for heart felt traditions of board games, eating, movie watching, and laughter. I have so much to be thankful for. Happy Thanksgiving to all my TRCS colleagues and friends. May we all make some beautiful magic and memories.

Molly Stinson: My Thanksgiving plan is to go home to Cape Cod to see my family. I will see my two brothers, my nieces and nephews, my cousins, and my parents. My husband and I will hopefully go Black Friday shopping, and then on Friday night we celebrate all of our fall birthdays with a big dinner, gifts, games, and a piƱata.

Angie Noble: This break my plans are to relax and enjoy some quality time with my boys. At least one day will be spent at the mountains snowboarding with them. I will  also be baking and making some gifts for loved ones. I'm grateful to have this time to catch up with family, friends, and my house.

John Campbell:  My Thanksgiving plans are a big dinner with my family. Classic Thanksgiving dishes and sides but most importantly time together as a family. I'm grateful for my family, friends, and the opportunity to be part of the TRCS community.
