Commissioner Appoints Community Members to Health Equity Advisory Council
Health Commissioner Edward Ehlinger, MD, MSPH, has appointed 25 Minnesotans to a newly created advisory council that will provide guidance on how to advance the health of communities statewide that are most impacted by persistent health inequities. Read more here

Feedback Needed on Changes to Medicaid Purchasing & Delivery Reform 
Minnesota's Department of Human Services is looking for input on proposed changes to how the state purchases coverage for Medical Assistance and MinnesotaCare enrollees, and how it can continue to evolve the Integrated Health Partnership program. Read more here
Minnesota Wild Salutes Health Care Professionals Dec. 14
The Minnesota Wild will hold its first annual "Salute 2 Scrubs" Appreciation Game on Dec. 14 at 7 p.m. at Xcel Energy Center. The event is to honor and recognize all health care professionals in Minnesota. With each ticket purchased, attendees will receive a special t-shirt. Health Department Offers Free Webinars to Combat Rise in Syphilis
As a result of a concerning increase in syphilis cases in the state, the Minnesota Department of Health is encouraging clinicians to view its free webinars on the diagnosis and treatment of the disease. Read more here
Resident and Fellow Section Governing Council Officers Announced
The MMA's Resident and Fellow Section (RFS) recently announced its leadership for 2018. The RFS represents the future generation of Minnesota's physicians and gives residents and fellows an opportunity to have a hand in shaping MMA policy and connect their peers withorganized medicine. Get Involved: Upcoming Opportunities for Medical Students
Students in Minnesota medical schools have a couple of opportunities to get involved in the MMA. First, there are the Medical Student Section (MSS) Executive Committee Elections, which will be held on Dec. 2 from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the MMA.  If you are interested in receiving information about elections, please contact Juliana Milhofer.  Second, MSS has one representative and one alternate appointed to each MMA policy committee: Ethics and Medical-Legal Affairs; Finance and Audit; Medical Practice and Quality; Membership and Communications; and Public Health.
