Rohingya children await aid
OBAT Leads Coalition to Help the Rohingya Refugees

With the recent influx of Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh  and the increasing crisis level, OBAT is leading an alliance of locally  based NGO's and volunteers in Bangladesh to step  forward to assist the Rohingya with their most  immediate needs. This OBAT led alliance is called the Humanitarian Assistance Program.

Our assistance is based on data collected from the Rohingya camps by OBAT staff and leadership. This collection of data will continue as aid is dispensed in order to fine tune our continued strategy. Our current plan is to supply emergency kits and meals, and setting up a medical camp with the partnership of the Bangladesh Medical Student Association.  The camp where these services will be rendered is known as Kutupalong  Refugee Camp, in Cox Bazaar, Chittagong.

Please join us as we embark on our campaign to raise funds for the Rohingya and alleviate the distressful conditions  being faced by this very vulnerable population. Every bit of help  counts and the more people that join hands, the more resources will be available to address this crisis. Find out what aid we have extended so far by visiting this page and donate to the Humanitarian Assistance Program by clicking here .

Students Learn to Meditate to Improve Focus and Concentration

Sohail Akhter Khan, OBAT's Project Officer in Bangladesh, undertook forty hours of meditation training which was organized by the Quantum Foundation - the leading meditation training institute in Bangladesh. Post training, Mr. Khan arranged meditation training for improving focus and attentiveness during class, among Rangpur, Syedpur and Dhaka's tutoring and scholarship students.

The benefits of mental relaxation, even for just five minutes before class have been studied to have had a significant impact in student behavior. It not only works as a strategy to cope with stress but also improves performance during class.
