Summit Prep in Springfield News-Leader
Hopefully everyone has seen last Wednesday's article about The Summit's plans to move into our new space on Walnut Lawn for the 2018-2019 school year.

The article has done a great job of stimulating interest in and awareness of our school. We have seen an uptick in inquiries for possible admission and even received letters of interest from educators asking about teaching positions as we move and grow our student population. Mr. Currao, Summit's Development Officer, attended a couple of community events this week (a Junior League event and Chamber of Commerce event) and commented that a majority of the people he spoke with were aware of The Summit, some of whom referenced the article.

Let's keep the energy up! Thank you to all who continue to wear your Summit Spirit Wear out and about, to those to tell their friends about the great things we do at The Summit, and those who share/like/comment on our social media posts.

News & Announcements
Recall: Slap Bracelet from Trolls Children's Book
Scholastic Book Fairs sent a recall notice of a slap bracelet found in the children's book Trolls: It's Hug Time! The book was at the 2016-2017 book fairs at The Summit. The metal band on the slap bracelet may wear through the fabric covering of the bracelet, posing a laceration hazard.

SAVE: Upper School Volunteer Event Sat., Nov. 4th
All Upper School students (6th-12th grades) are invited to attend the S.A.V.E. Event (Student Advocate Volunteer Event) on Saturday, November 4th from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. at The Summit Prep's NEW LOCATION, 202 E. Walnut Lawn.

Cooperating with Community Partnership of the Ozarks, The Summit is hosting our second Volunteer Fair for all middle and high school students in the Springfield and surrounding areas. At this event, students (along with parents) may learn about volunteer opportunities and/or possible internship sites from various not-for-profit agencies in the Springfield area.

The Summit's high school service learning class has been very involved in planning the fair, and we would love to see as many smiling Summit faces that day as possible.

This is a come and go event, you do not have to stay the entire time.  Please help us spread the word to friends outside of The Summit and invite them . Questions? Contact  Anne Mason  or  Mrs. Smith .

Participation is completely optional and free of charge. Additionally, teachers are excited at the prospect of the Business Directory to have as a reference for potential guest speakers in their classrooms &/or field trip opportunities. If you are interested in being listed in the Business Directory, please use the link on the right.
