Arts Learning Manager
The Arizona Commission on the Arts, an agency of the State of Arizona, seeks a creative and collaborative Arts Learning Manager, responsible for providing thought leadership, conceptual and managerial oversight related to the Arts Commission's comprehensive slate of Arts Learning programs and services, grantmaking, partnerships, and strategic initiatives. 

Operations and HR Associate
The Arizona Commission on the Arts seeks a highly-motivated and industrious Operations and Human Resources Associate, an integral member of the Arts Commission team who manages agency operations and human resources processes, coordinates logistics related to the agency's gubernatorially-appointed commission, and provides administrative support to agency leadership.


Applications will be accepted until the positions are filled. First review of applications will take place on November 1, 2017.

Professional Development Grants (PDG) are designed to assist Arizona artists, arts administrators and arts educators with funding support for participation in professional development and skills-building activities which contribute to significant professional growth.

Learning activities include (but are not limited to) the following:
  • Participation in conferences or symposia
  • Artist or administrator residencies
  • Training with mentors/master artists

Governor's Arts Awards | Nominations Now Open 
Arizona Citizens for the Arts

Each year, our friends at Arizona Citizens for the Arts, a statewide arts advocacy network, partner with the Office of the Governor to recognize Arizona artists, arts organizations, businesses, educators, and individuals for their passion, creativity, and devotion to the excellence and diversity of Arizona's arts and cultural community.

stARTup Art Fair LA 2018 | Call for Independent Artists
stARTup Art Fair

stARTup Art Fair Los Angeles is a juried contemporary hotel art fair for independent artists. Taking place the same weekend as Art Los Angeles Contemporary in Santa Monica, stARTup Art Fair is the only other LA satellite event that week where the public can view and acquire work from 50+ independent artists. At stARTup, artists will have access to the myriad of international collectors, curators, dealers, consultants, art writers, and designers who come to Los Angeles for a weekend of art.

Alternative art and literature magazine seeks work for Winter 2018

Alternative art and literature magazine The Matador Review is now accepting submissions for the Winter 2018 publication. They publish poetry, fiction, flash fiction, and creative non-fiction, inviting all unpublished literature written in the English language (and translations that are accompanied by the original text) as well as many forms of visual art.

Absolutely Wild Enchanted Faerie Portals & Other Whimsy

This is a call for young writers and creatives (ages 15-ish to 25-ish)-and invited professionals-to submit content for potential inclusion in The Storytelling Book of the Ancient Traveler. Annual Outdoor Sculpture Garden Exhibition

The Tucson Jewish Community Center is accepting applications for its Annual Outdoor Sculpture Garden Exhibition (April 8, 2018 - March 1, 2019).  All sculpture materials/installations should be appropriate for an outdoor, desert environment and sculptures will be available for sale with 65% commission to the artist and 35% commission to the Tucson Jewish Community Center.  Each selected entry will receive a $500 honorarium.

35mm Slide Show

This is an international call to artists over the age of 18, open to all disciplines with no theme. The only stipulation is all works must be presented on 35mm slide to be displayed on a rotating projector during the month of December. All artwork submitted must not infringe upon any copyright or the rights of any person.

Holiday Festival of the Arts

The Oro Valley Holiday Festival of the Arts has quickly become one the largest regional art events in Southern Arizona. Tucson Skies Photography Exhibition

An exhibition of photography illustrating the skies over Tucson in collaboration with the Tucson Symphony Orchestra, photography will display in an exhibition at the Tubac Center of the Arts and subsequently select digital images of the work will be shown at the Tucson Symphony Orchestra during an original composition of Tucson native composer Anthony Constantino. Photographs should illustrate Tucson skies at day, dusk, and/or night.

The Glendale Public Art Program is pleased to announce an expansion in funding for arts and culture, the 2017-2018 Centerline Arts and Cultural Initiative. The city has developed this program to motivate, increase and support free cultural events and performances to enrich the quality of life and experiences of all Glendale citizens, while increasing foot traffic in the Centerline District. The Glendale Arts Commission awards support up to $10,000 per applicant for unique visual and temporary interactive arts events, theater, dance, music and interdisciplinary performing arts.

Artist Fellowships
First Peoples Fund

Through the Artists in Business Leadership and Cultural Capital Fellowships, First Peoples Fund partners with Native artists and culture bearers to strengthen their business skills and to ensure that art, culture and ancestral knowledge are passed from one generation to the next. 20-25 artists are selected annually for First Peoples Fund's one-year fellowship programs. Fellows receive $5,000 project grants, technical support and professional training to start or grow a thriving arts business and to further their important work in their communities.
 
HMC International Artist Residency Program

Main Street Arts is accepting applications for the first quarter of our 2018 residency program. Artists in residence will have 24-hour access to a large studio on our second floor, the option to show work in the gallery, and the opportunity to teach paid workshops. Facilities include 200 sq. ft. studio spaces, an electric kiln, potters wheel, etching press, and more.

[nueBOX] Studio/LAB Residency
[nueBOX]

[nueBOX] is currently accepting applications from individual artists and/or artist teams to create work from February-May 2018 in a residency at the Mesa Arts Center. The Spring residency is for an interdisciplinary solo artist or collaborative team with a strong center in physical, movement-based practice (i.e. dance, physical theatre, performance art, somatics) to take a deep dive into creative research, and physicalize that research into something that may be shared in a final, ticketed performance.

Artist Residency with Stipend
Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts

The Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts offers approximately 70 juried residencies per year to visual artists, writers, composers, and interdisciplinary artists from across the country and around the world. The KHN Center accommodates up to five artists at a time for stays that vary from two to eight weeks. Each resident is provided with comfortable accommodations, ample studio space, and a weekly $100 stipend for the duration of their stay.

Creative Gateways Resident Artists

Creative Gateways is now accepting applications for resident artists. This residency supports artists working across all disciplines through one year residencies, creating a space for artistic dialogue and cultural exchange. Creative Gateways offers 24/7 access to unfurnished, private studio spaces (169-208 sq. ft.) in our diverse artist community in Sedona, Arizona. As a studio based residency, the focus is on the artistic process and the cross-collaboration that results from working alongside other artists.

The teaching artist will co-design with the arts education coordinator two age and experience appropriate visual arts lessons for one middle school and one high school. The Desert Laboratory in collaboration with the University of Arizona Confluencenter for Creative Inquiry is initiating a Transdisciplinary Arts Program to explore, document, and share the stories and richness of Cemamagi Du'ag, the hill of the horned lizard. The Tumamoc Arts Fellow will serve multiple roles and be at the center of this new program, with space and opportunity to develop their own creative endeavors through an office at the Desert Laboratory.
