Educating for Belief and Practice

Combining Biblical and Rabbinic sources with the latest research on the development of belief, spirituality, and religious practice, this practical shiur will focus on principles and practical strategies for supporting children and their developing relationship with God and Judaism. Topics will include creating meaningful Shabbat and Yom Tov experiences, supporting children's tefilla development, learning Torah with children, asking and answering questions, and more.

  Scott J. Goldberg, Ph.D., is an active teacher, researcher, and internationally renowned Jewish educational consultant. Dr. Goldberg is Chairman of the Koren Publishers Educational Editorial Board. He was the Vice Provost of Yeshiva University from 2013 to 2016. Before that, he was the inaugural director of the YU School Partnership , the arm of the university that he envisioned to advance the field of Jewish education through partnership with educators, lay leaders, and schools. Dr. Goldberg is a tenured faculty member at Yeshiva University's Azrieli Graduate School of Jewish Education. He holds a Ph.D. in Applied Psychology from New York University, an M.S.Ed. in Special Education from Bank Street College of Education in New York, and a B.A. in Jewish Studies from the University of Chicago. He is a proud Yeshivat Noam parent.
