THE MIRACULOUS GIFT OF GRATITUDE

Sunday, November 19 @ 9 & 11am - Crossroads Worship

THE MIRACULOUS GIFT OF GRATITUDE

What's the first thing you think of when you hear the word Thanksgiving?
More than turkey and pumpkin pie, Thanksgiving is a spiritual practice.
See you on Sunday to learn more about how we can practice Thanksgiving and the miraculous healing it can bring into hearts, mind, body and soul.

Invite someone to come along with you this Sunday to learn more.
See you Sunday at 9 or 11 AM

CHURCH WIDE INVITATIONS

Porch de Salomon's mission is to serve the Least, the Lost and the Last. This is a one week experience where team members take part in building a small concrete block home for an impoverished indigenous Mayan family. The days are spent constructing the home with time built in for interaction with the local people and learning about their culture and way of life. No construction experience is necessary, just a heart and mind open to the transformational power of service!

Total cost of the trip is approximately $1,400.00. Click  here to find out more and to register .

Come and learn what Porch de Salomon is all about. You can also check out their website
or if you have any questions, you can contact   Kathy MacKrell.

Thanksgiving Baskets

Crossroads will once again be providing Thanksgiving Baskets to Payne Elementary in Northeast DC.  Payne Elementary children are tutored by Crossroads servants each week. The majority of the students at this school qualify for the free or reduced lunch program.  The Crossroads UMC family is honored to help serve our brothers and sisters in DC and share the love of Jesus during the holiday season.

You can sign-up/pick-up a basket and have additional questions answered just outside the sanctuary after each service in November prior to Thanksgiving.  You can also check the website or contact Kathy Mackrell.

Parenting Seminar
November 29, 2017
7- 8:30 pm @ Crossroads UMC

This event is offered to the community free of charge.

New findings show that the greatest changes to the parts of the brain that are responsible for functions  such as self-control, judgments, emotions, and organization occur between puberty and adulthood. This  helps explain certain teenage behavior that adults can find mystifying.

During this engaging presentation, licensed professional counselor and family therapist Neil McNerney will share specific skills to foster greater understanding between you and your teen so you can restore calm, reclaim respect, and regain love and fun within your family.

Questions? Click here for more information or contact Marilyn Perry, Crossroads UMC's Student and Family  Ministry Director.
