PGA Financial Assistance Fund Scholarship Link Live

The PGA Financial Assistance Fund Scholarship application is available on PGA.org today, November 16.  There is a link on the homepage and on the PGA Financial Assistance Fund Scholarship page . Established in 1986, the program provides college scholarships for children and grandchildren of PGA Members.
 
There is a  new feature this year. A toll free number - (888) 713-9098 - will have information about the scholarship and dates, etc.

Important dates to remember:
  • November 16, 2017 - Scholarship application goes live on pga.org.
  • March 1, 2018 - Deadline date to submit the application.
  • March 19, 2018 - Deadline date to have all supporting documents submitted, provided applicant is eligible. 
PGA to Conduct KPMG Women's PGA Championship & PGA Championship at Aronimink

The PGA of America announced today that Aronimink Golf Club in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania, will host the 2020 KPMG Women's PGA Championship and the 2027 PGA Championship.

2018 Boys Junior PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club

The PGA of America announced today that Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky, will host the 2024 PGA Championship, as well as the 2018 Boys Junior PGA Championship.

Season Ends at Las Vegas Pro-Am

Chris Johnson, PGA, Life Member from Castle Rock, and his team dominated the Las Vegas Pro-Am this week with a final 51-under 381. Claiming second place with a 42-under 390 was the team led by Dave Detweiler, PGA, Life Member from Larkspur.

In all, 21 five-man teams competed in the three-day event at the Las Vegas Paiute Resort.
Bingaman and Grady Make Cut in Assistant PGA Championship

Ryan Zylstra from Richmond, Virginia, won the 41st National Car Rental Assistant PGA Professional Championship with a finishing score of 11-under 277. Duval, Washington, golfer Derek Berg finished with a solo second, one stroke back at 10-under 278.

Brandon Bingaman and Pat Grady advanced to the final rounds. Bingaman completed play tied for 28th with a 1-over 289 while Grady finished with an 8-over 296 to tie for the 56th position.

Coloradan Rohrbaugh loses ground despite 72 at Champions Q-school Regionals

Doug Rohrbaugh of Carbondale improved his score by a shot compared to the first round, but dropped six spots in the standings on Wednesday in the PGA Tour Champions Regional Qualifying tournament being held in Nipton, Calif.
 
The three-time Colorado PGA Professional Champion and 2013 CoBank Colorado Senior Open winner followed up a first-round 73 with a 72 on Wednesday, leaving him tied for 35th place at 145.

At least 11 Colorado/JGAC Golfers from Class of 2018 Headed to NCAA Div. I Programs

At least 11 Coloradans or JGAC members are expected to play college golf for NCAA Division I programs starting next fall. Eight of those 11 are heading to Colorado-based programs, with another bound for the nearby University of Wyoming in Laramie.

Coloradans Knous, Whitney Fall Short of Returning to Web Q-School Final Stage

Two Coloradans who played full-time on the Web.com Tour in 2017 failed to regain fully exempt status for 2018. Jim Knous of Littleton and Tom Whitney of Fort Collins, both of whom competed in a PGA Tour event last weekend, fell short of returning to the Final Stage of Web.com Q-school.
