Summer Pictures Needed for Yearbook
The Yearbook Club needs photos of ICS students from this past summer. We are looking for pictures with clear face shots and of students doing interesting activities. The photos should be at least 2MB and include a short description of who is in the picture, his or her grade, and what is happening. Email all photos and questions to Rosi Hristova by October 31st. Thank you for your help.

Back to School Dance, Oct 13th
Don't miss our Back to School Dance on October 13th (also known as Friday the 13th). You'll be able to enjoy music from DJs slip n slide, Melori and Stella, good company, free food, and a chance to win a swan float. All you have to do is show up with your ASB card and sticker. If you don't have an ASB sticker, you can buy one from the student store during lunch. No ASB Sticker? Gain entry to the dance for $5 at the entrance to the Lyceum.
If you want to bring a guest, turn in the guest form to the office by Wednesday, October 11th.
We will need some parent volunteers; more information will be available soon.
EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITES

Robotics Club
The ICS PTSA Robotics Club started meeting on September 29th, but it's not too late to join. Students can start with this week's meeting.
Club meetings are Fridays 2:15pm - 4:00pm in room #165. The club concentrates on robotics skills (planning, building, programming, analyzing), teamwork, and leadership skills. Students will work with the VEX IQ or VEX EDR system depending on grade and experience. The club participates in local and regional VEX competitions. We encourage all teams to compete, but it is not required.
At least two parent volunteers are needed at each weekly session. Parents with either hardware or software experience, or anyone that is good at working with their hands and building things, are ideal. The registration form has a section for parent volunteering.
The annual fee is $100, covering both robotics kits and tournament entry fees. For additional information or to receive a registration form, email [email protected]

Use the ICS Calendar to Connect
What's the best way to publicize an event to ICS parents and students? Putting it in the newsletter is a great start, but there's a second important step: Get the event on the ICS calendar! Just email the following details to [email protected]
  • What the event is
  • When and where it's happening
  • Whom the event is for
Please note the event must be organized by the school, the district, the ICS PTSA or Washington State PTA, the ICS ASB, or PTSA/ASB-affiliated clubs and committees for inclusion on the ICS calendar.
