ANNOUNCEMENTS
The Luther College Jazz Orchestra and Vocal Jazz will perform a concert showcasing Swing Era pieces and contemporary styles at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, November 19, in the Center for Faith and Life, Main Hall. The performance features several Luther students' improvised solos during compositions written by distinguished jazz musicians.
 
Transgender Day of Remembrance - PRIDE is hosting a memorial service for those who have lost their lives due to anti-transgender violence. We are hoping students, faculty and staff can come together to show their support for transgender people while taking part in this important day set aside to increase awareness about the evils aimed towards those who are attempting to be true in their identity. We will be near the  fireplace of the Union at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, November 20 with candles to pass out.  

RERUNS
Featuring scenes from "Carmen" and "Don Giovanni," Luther College students will perform "Fall Opera Scenes: Close Encounters" at 7:30 p.m. Friday, November 17, and 1 p.m. Saturday, November 18, in the Noble Recital Hall of the Jenson-Noble Hall of Music. The performances are directed by Luther professors Deborah Gover, Nicholas Shaneyfelt and Jonathon Struve.
 
Peace Scholar Presentations -- Sunday, November 19, 7:30- 8:30 p.m., Olin 214.  The CEPE invites sophomores or juniors interested in the Peace Scholar program to come and hear Billy Jeide '18, Nathan Campbell '18, and Bakhita Soares '18 discuss their Peace Scholar experiences. The program funds two Luther students to study at the Nansen Center for Peace and Dialogue in Lillehammer, and then attend the University of Oslo Summer School. Come and learn all about it. 
 
The Diversity Center will have a Decorah Walmart shopping shuttle running from 2:00-5:00 pm on Saturday, November 18.  This is open to all students and there is no charge, but reservations are requested, please register here. Students should meet in front of the Union.  
 
The Union will be closed November 23-24. Luther will have a Decorah Shopping Shuttle Wednesday, November 22, from 2:00-5:00 to downtown so students can use their meal vouchers from Dining Services. This is open to all students and there is no charge, but reservations are requested, please register here . Students should meet in front of the Union. Meal vouchers can be picked up from the Dining Services Office November 13-21 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
 
Students -- Are you planning a J-term study abroad trip? You can now purchase and/or rent your books in the Book Shop. Great prices and no extra shipping charges!
 
The current Union Gallery Exhibition, "From Parlor to Countryside: Recent Fine Arts Collection Print Acquisitions," will be uninstalled on Wednesday, November 15, in preparation for a pop up gallery show from ART 490, Senior Projects in Process.
